Such a shame they have switched the kangaroo route hub. The timing of the flight changes in Dubai in both directions are very poor for Jet Lag..

As a full-time wheelchair user, air travel has to be the taken only if you wear nappies, plus do not mind being bodily lifted to your seat. I could not believe that I was loaded last, lifted to the Aisle wheelchair, then to be body lifted to my seat. An aisle seat. This was a long haul flight to Perth WA. via Singapore. The emails the phone calls the early check-in, could never account for this bad service. The captain was ready for 'push back' as I was stuck in the aisle while the cabin crew worked out what to do. In the end another passenger swapped seats, bulk head row. Business class/first class, a wheelchair user can not use the toilet without a lift. Qantas gave a rude and shameful service. Airlines must review their service for wheelchair users.

I flew Sydney/Singapore/London on an A380. Ground handling in Sydney was superb as was the lounge. In the air was a different story. On the leg from Singapore to London I wanted dinner and didn't fancy anything on the menu so asked for scrambled eggs as I saw they would be available for breakfast. This request was refused. In my view if one is travelling first class a simple request like this should be carried out. They manage it on BA and Cathay.I felt the cabin crew member just couldn't be bothered.I contacted Qantas customer service but never heard back from them . So my view is if you want a first Class experience try and avoid Qantas.

Qantas scrambled eggs are made in bulk and from liquid form not just heated up like other airlines. therefore it would have left breakfast short of eggs but this way the product is much fresher...

Re Qantas reply below.
1. It has taken Qantas 6 months to respond
2. On BA eggs are cooked freshly for you and Qantas using bulk liquid does not sound very fresh to me.
3. First Class should be First Class and this means beiong able to provide your client with a snack if he or she wants it. As BA and Cathay do.
Bulk liquid eggs and being told to eat when we want you too is not First Class.

The flight was comfortable and the entertainment was good, not enough time to see all the movies i would have wanted to.
The staff in business class were very attentive, however if you go economy then dont expect too many smiles.
Good food and drink on offer.
The drawbacks are, for the astronomical money you are paying for the seat, the actual seat is not that big! compared to other companies like singapore airways it is very tight and uncomfortable. generally good, but i would reccomend Singapore airways to anybody, above all else.

I just returned from a trip from Sydney to Frankfurt and back (via Singapore). That's a long time in QANTAS planes.

I flew with Qantas on my first ever long haul journey. I thought the airline was fantastic and I'd def fly with them again. My one and only complaint would be that my TV didn't work on the way back which would have been a problem if I hadn't been so tired I slept the whole journey back.

There was minimum turbulence on this flight and generally I felt safe, Qantas has a reputation for safety in the skies. It was like a rocket to the moon if you like.

The seats on Qantas seem to be so much smaller than SIA or Malaysian Airlines. There is a box under the seat in front of you, now that means you loose even more leg room. I never thought it would be possible to reduce legroom any further but they have managed it! The food out of Shanghai was dreadful, they may have to review there catering there. Out of Sydney was fine. We were seated in economy so we did not expect or pay for fine dining but out of Shanghai was extreme in its poor standard.

Qantas is an excellent airline to fly. They cover all the major cities in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. Their staff are excellent, and their service is good.
However, their flights are not always cheap if you miss out on their special offers. Seating comfort is adequate.

Completely agree with you here! I fly about three times a year between the uk and oz and also preferred when they flew via Singapore!
Also the flights are way more packed now their have code shared with Emirates. Time to think about switching companies!
