The Nikon 28-80 AF G Series is Very sharp on my Nikon D700. Very good colors. Sometimes it is almost as sharp as my Nikon 14-24. Ultralight. I think that lenses are less important than photographers and cameras. I have always had very good pictures using this lens on my D700. Ideal for travelling… Read Full Review

This Nikon 28-80 AF G Series along with the 28-100 is nikons budget zoom for all its new auto fous film cameras.

it can also be used on the newer digital cameras giving you a 42-120 sized lens.

you have to be slightly more protective of this lens as it can get knocked out of alignment with very heavy usage, as some reports say.

but i have hammered my two versions (silver and black) and had no problems yet.

dont expect to get 12 x 16 pin sharp enlargements out of this lens. but you will get… Read Full Review

I found this review very helpful because...Lens was still in good operating condition after unintentional physical abuse. Ideal for hand held with 100-400 asa film.
