i must admit i am very confused with the travel insurance offer from nat west gold card, on several occasions we have booked a holiday and some staff members advise that in orcer to receive free travel insurance we have to pay by card, others say this is not the case, some members of staff advise thay cannot confirm in wrtiting that we are covered others send a letter, it is very confusing, as it has to be in writing as otherwise the company we are going on holiday with would not know if we are insured or not.

The account comes with free annual travel insurance - but when you need to make an enquiry about it, the only way possible is to call an 0870 number (premium rate). But they won't answer the phone, so it costs you money and you get nowhere. They don't even have an email address. If you're going to use and 0870 number, you need to actually respond to calls.

hmmm - watch that phone 'insurance' offer so far as the theft side is concerned. it effectively only covers you if your phone is stolen through breaking and entering or being mugged. if your phone is stolen from, say your office (as mine was), it is classed as a 'public place' or somewhere to which 'other people have access' (?your bag on the tube or in a pub?) and hence you are not covered. not sure what the point of insurance that restrictive really. oh and from your car doesnt count either. thanks natwest for such a comprehensively restrictive insurance policy. go with your providers - it may cost more but at least they dont quibble.
