I kept some money left when I purchased my Freelander 1.8 in case but it all went within the 6 first months. The car feels great to drive, seems that no road, no snow, no heavy load can stop it. There´s room inside to move a house and your passengers always compliment you for their excellent trip experience. Beside this, the poor reliability will kill the pleasure to drive. I had to replace the ABS unit after ineffective and expensive reset from Land Rover, the electric window motors, driver and rear doors had to be replaces. And these come beside regular services and expensive fuel etc... My GF never really understood why I sold the car as I never show her the bills.. about 2500€ flew away in 8 months and seemed that it could have been worse compared to other users...

Bought a Freelander 1 but went for a year without driving it because no one could fix the F4 error. Has electrical faults and consistently the windows fail to open or close - or close half way. Very dissapointed.

I purchased from new a Freelander 2 SD4 HSE and have done 24K miles with no problems apart from a filter that clogged on the pump supplying the haldex unit - was easily sorted and no problems since. Have to say i love the car, would def buy another. Average milage in abou 37mph on the motorway being very sensible over 75 miles i can get 43 - 45 mpg

one amaizing car!!! Cannot be happier. It's a fantastic masterpiece and truly reccomend anyone to get a freelander. Good enough off road (for realistic off road cirmustances) and on road it's just a pleasure. i won't be selling mine anytime soon, but hope guys at LR keep the good work going...

We have had the Land Rover Freelander just over a year and a half. Since purchased new it has not given us a problem. I have owned many vehicles and really I went this route because they are not as common as most vehicles. If I were to research this prior to buying it I probably would have been scared off. They do not fare well with the press in general. But as it is mine has been great. I mean the features on this truck are something else. Heated windshield. Power rear window, Hill descent control, ABS, Traction control, Rear fog lights, 18"wheels, Heated seats, 5 speed auto/man transmission with sport mode and more. Plus all your regular power features. Powered by a 2.5litre 174hp V6 this vehicle can travel at 140kph all day. No it's not a race car but on the highway it's great. Acceleration is fine, braking excellent and handling above average. Now about gas milage. This vehicle is around 3600 pounds. It is all wheel drive. It is motivated by a 6 cylinder motor so you tend to dip your foot into it. Gas milage suffers.Around 19 miles to the gallon for me. That's mostly city though. Out on the highway probably 21 mpg. But it wasn't purchased for its economy, I knew it wasn't a fuel miser. For what it was purchased for it hasn't let us down. And that's a stylish, safe, all weather vehicle. I am actually quite happy with this vehicle, surprise.

I have owned a Land Rover Freelander SUV for the last three Years, I did have many repairs done under the warranty (Transmission, Drive Shaft, Ball Joint, Water Leak) But I always get good service from my dealer.

I have owned my Landrover Freelander Braemar 1.8 petrol SUV (special edition) for three weeks now,and i think it's the best vehicle I have had. Standard features are - abs, air con. Traction control, twin air bags, 17"alloys, light guards all round. It behaves well on long trips and seat support is excellent. My only concern is fuel consumption.

i bought a freelander in 2003 from a landrover dealer, it was registered in1999,it had just over 33,000 on clock, it was a fifty year special edition, leather seats, six change c/d player, air con, 1.8 eng, it was a lovely motor to drive, what i did'nt know was there was problem with the 1.8 headgasket which seems to go after 60,000 mls. landrover knows about this, and it has cost me dearly for a rebuilt engine. my advice to anyone with the 1.8, is to get rid of this piece of junk before the same happens to them, there are plenty of sites world wide which you can find on the web where 100's of these problems can be seen. get rid.

We've had our Landrover Freelander SUV for nearly four years. Probably only bought it because (a) we got a good deal (my Boss was moving to Aust and wanted a quick sale) and (b) couldn't affored a newish Discovery. It's time for a change and, in spite of being Land Rover people (we still have an 11 year old Discovery "workhorse") we've just traded it in for a Honda CRV. Watch for the Honda CRV review in the next couple of weeks :-)
Overall, we have no complaints about the Freelander. "Her" loves it; "Him" prefers Discovery. C'est la vie!
