ALERT!Two brands of C100 in Nigerian market. One bought from a Samsung distributor (D)and the other bought from Tosman computer electronic store Ikeja Lagos(T). T;1. Carton is darker 2.Write up inside the phone(with battery removed)appears sharper than the one bought from 'D' 3.A waste basket crossed with an x is drawn on the inside of the one bought from T. 4.A sticker of same waste basket crossed with x is on the charger. Can Samsung investigate this please as this phone is popularly used in Nigeria.

I've been using my Samsung C100 for about 2 months. Few problems had arised with it, only for slow messaging and long recharging time. But I found that this phone is very nice and attractive.

I bought the Samsung SGH-C100 mobile phone a few months ago over the internet for £89.99 which is a bit more than in most shops but i have to say i think it is nearly worth every penny: i like the colours and the layouts but the annoying thing is that it has quite slow starting menus, for example when you turn on the fone you have to wait about half a minute for the sms service to "Initialise".
But that's really the only annoying thing about it.

I bought this Samsung SGH-C100 mobile phone in Oct. '03 and found out that I had bought just the right phone, it has an excellent array of tones with good sound quality and loudness and it's screen resolution is extremely superb. It has all the features I needed except MMS and not so good reception.

I just bought this Samsung SGH-C100 mobile phone as a replacement for my sharp gx10i and iam delighted, this phone is amazing, samsung have really gone up in the world, the menus are nicley designed and are very nice to look at (unlike the sharp gx10i) the ringtones are the best i have ever heard. the screen has got a nice bright colour display, that is unusal compared to other budget phones, the only thing i can knock about the phone is the size of the screen, it could have been a bit bigger!! it comes with 4 games and even they are fun!! even the the sharp gx10i is a expensive phone the menus are bland and boring, well thats the whole phone really! the only good thing was the camera! anyway i recomend this phone to anybody who is looking to spend around £80, it beat phones priced the same by far!!!!!!!!!

You can get ringtones and graphics from either the sammsung club http://www.samsungelectronics.co.uk/sfc (wap.samsungmobile.com)
<br>
<br>or www.Esato.com if you use Esato tell it you have a nokia 6610 the screen size/resolution is the same

I just got my samsung SGH-c100 yesterday and the first thing that i noticed when i first held it was the wieght of the phone, its soo lite that i forgot that it was in my pocket one time. After a few texts i think that the number pad feels and works great. the wallpapers in the phone are great, very much helped by the 65,000 colour screen, which i was extremely impresses by. The java games which are preloaded on the fone, like pac-man and bowling are a very fun way to loose some time or play when you are bored. I went to some boring wedding on the the day i got the fone and thank god i got it on that day otherwise i would have died of bordom. I love the menu system after first having a nokia fone. The ringtones are superb, at first i couldnt believe that ringtones had got soo good because i had a reallly old phone before, so i was out of date with the lastes fone technologies. The call quality is also good, i recieved my fist call during the very loud wedding and i was surprised how clear it was compared to other fones i have used. Ive heard people complain about the unexpandable T9 but i dont text heavaly so it dosnt really matter to me. The only con in this fone is the screen. Its quite small even though i have got used to it but if only samsung had made the screen a good size the fone would be perfect.
Overall i really love this fone and i hope if you choose to buy it u will 2.

“Samsung have done it again with a superb slim and...”

★★★★★

written by scarborian on 17/08/2003

Samsung have done it again with a superb slim and lightweight handset that will make you the envy of your friends, especially if they have the older N500, N620 or Nokia 5210i!
So lets get the basics out of the way first. The call quality on this phone is superb and equal to a dect phone used on a BT landline. With its built-in aerial the phone managed to hang on to calls even in known poor signal area's. The keypad is a good size and the keys easy to use, even for sausage fingers, although the spacing could be better. This handset uses the now familier Samsung four way navigation key which is customizable for some,(but not all) of the C100's features, and soft keys which change their function with the selected menu. In the middle, there is a dedicated internet key which doubles as a delete key when texting, more on that later.
The C100's display is a full colour 65k as found on the T100 and S300 etc and is brilliant in all but very bright sunlight. The phone has a good menu system with all sub menu's logical and easily thought out. A good selection of screen savers are available but the handset reverts to a clock display after a couple of minutes!
Ringtones are full 40 voice polyphonic and the pre-loaded ones are pretty good with more than just the usual selection of "classic tunes." More tones can be downloaded from the Samsungfun website, as can games because this handset is Java enabled. WAP seemed ok with a reasonably quick download time, although I didn't get chance to try it on GPRS. Files can be transfered to your PC or PDA via infra-red, also standard on the C100.
Now the bad part! Why oh why can't those nice people at Samsung get the message about texting! The only Samsung phone with "proper" T9 text facility appears to be the brilliant A800. The C100 shares the appalling system as found on previous Samsungs such as the T100, S300 and S100 etc. Words scroll from one line to the next and the system does not let you teach it new words! Even old basic Nokia's had this feature! Come on Samsung, get with the programme and use the A800's software in some of your new phones, you'd be on to a sure fire winner!
That gripe aside, the C100 is great little handset and is being offered at a very sensible price on PAYG or free on new contract. If you can put up with its size and its quirky T9 texting you should find the C100 a great mobile phone.

A nice phone but with basic applications, easy to use, size of the phone overal is great. Basiclly there's not alot of size and weight, which i love. But as it is still new some of the after market are not really out yet so it will be a time before any real logos and tones are out
