Brilliant

Breaston Equestrian Center was the best riding stables I went to. Unfortunately it shut down, you don't realize what you have until you've lost it. I started of in the beginners group and I made my way up to the standard, then the intermediate. I even had a couple of lessons in the advance group. All in the space of 2 years how good is that. I always rode in a group and I know that some places have really bad group lessons but there was only (at the absolute most) 6 of us in the group. The horses: Gem (my absolute favorite, flynn, libby, rosie, ruby, babs, sparkie, squirrel. They were all of the ponies I rode they were all lovely (except for naughty libby). Sue was an amazing teacher and I learnt so much from her. Rebecca was lovely as well. I earn't 3 rossets from their saturday competitions. 2 4th's and 1 2nd. I was very proud.

I wish it was still open, I have had to move 3 times and they are not half as good as Breaston. If it opened again I wouldn't hesitate to go straight back there.

Interesting...

I know it has shut down but I have only just got round to writing a review. Lovely ponies that Won't do anything cheeky so perfect for a riding school with novice riders. Althought Sue and her team weren't as impressive as they werent as friendly. But ignoring that fact, Breaston Equestrian Centre gave me a couple of fun years riding!

I Rode At Breast Equestrian Centre For Many Years

I rode at Breast Equestrian centre for many years and left some time ago. My experience wasn't that brilliant although there were some good and enjoyable moments.

Although the lessons were detailed and challenging with good content I found that there was a group of people (incidentally most of whom have written the "good" reviews on here) who were a clique within the equestrian centre and who got preferential treatment over everybody else. They were the ones who, while I was at the centre were in an elitest group at the very top that you were lucky to get into. These were the people who loaned and owned horses at the yard and often could act very snobby towards others.

The instructors themselves did not have very positive or friendly attitudes, they could often be heard shouting at pupils learning there and reduced people to tears on several occasions. When I went to other riding schools I was surprised to be treated like a human being and offered some respect and kindness, I had come to the assumption all instructors were like this. Perhaps some anger management is needed?

I also found it was much more expensive to ride their than other places and it got to the point where I could no longer afford it. Furthermore the arrival of the active riding club on Saturdays meant all lessons were tailored towards this and I certainly could not afford to pay for membership and then every competition I entered onto of my lessons so I began to feel it was a little bit pointless for me turning up.

Its a shame really because the lesson content was good, I learnt a lot while I was there and the horses were all lovely in their own way (I genuinely miss them) however the negative experiences became more and more frequent until I no longer felt the excitement and motivation I used to about going. Overall I don't think I would recommend it unless you have a large amount of money stashed away somewhere.

I Have Read Some Comments About Horses 'misbehavin

I have read some comments about horses 'misbehaving' and can I just add - THEY ARE ANIMALS! Have you never seen horses misbehave with top 4* riders? That is why people learn to ride, to achieve control and a partnership with the horse. Horses only 'misbehave' when the RIDER is incapable. Breaston offers high quality teaching for all levels, from learning to ride, to competing nationally and internationally. Breaston is different from other schools as they do try to teach you to ride, not just sit on top. They do not however, push you beyond what you feel happy with, you just have to speak up! Breaston is absolutely fantastic with it's facilities, staff, horses and activities! It's a hard run school which people should be privileged to go!

Breaston Is A Great Stables Were Everybody Is Welc

Breaston is a great stables were everybody is welcome. Yesterday I was at the active riding club they do and I fell off for the first time. Everybody was so supportive to me and mum who was anxiously watching. Even though there are not that many ponys there is Flyn,Gem,Sparkie,Rosie,Ruby,Squirrel,Babs and Libby (who threw me off). But dont worry all the ponys are different and you will only be put on a pony which suits you. By the way i dont know to much about the horses but what i do know is that the all do as the are told (eventually).

I Started Riding At 30 Something Years Old At Brea

I started riding at 30 something years old at Breaston. A few years later, I have 3 horses, hunt, compete at BD and showjumping and am bringing on my first home bred youngster who promises to be a superstar. If you want to sit on a horse and have an amble round then maybe I wouldnt recommend Breaston EC but if you want to learn to ride properly then I can't fault Sue and her team.

Breaston Is Good Riding School And The Tuition Is

breaston is good riding school and the tuition is good but i stopped going as i found that the livery's had priority over us minions, the active riding club is good but again the livery's had priority i also found if u rode one of the livery's horses and they were watching off putting even though they don't actually own them they seem to think they do.its a riding school that is why i went, to LEARN to ride

I found this review not helpful because... it's not true. Livery people don't have priority and they don't act like they own the horses at all! And they have a right to watch if they would like to!!!! And anyway what does it matter if they watch. When they were watching me when I was riding one of their horses it didn't matter.
