Not Too Comfy.
Food is excellent, however the seats are extremely hard on your back with no stuffing in whatsoever. My daughter sat at her chair for 5 minutes and got a backache, so we had to change the chair. But to our disgust, it was worse than before!!!! The starters are very filling, meaning you do not want the 15 plates you have ordered too. A doggy bag would be good, if offered, but no, they do not, so much food is wasted. The waitresses can't stop smiling at your children which is good, but makes us parents look miserable haha! !
Beware if disabled: toilets are on second floor, which can be quite difficult to climb if in a chair. ENJOY YOUR MEAL.

We Have Eaten Here Since The Mid Nineties, And I H
We have eaten here since the mid nineties, and I have never eaten better Chinese food anywhere else. The staff are efficient and friendly (as you know, the Chinese from Hong Kong can often be frosty)and the bill is less than you might expect (around £100 including drinks for four). I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough. Wing is the boss, and he has become a mate over the years. Lovely surroundings, comfortable seating, and not crushed. John Stevens
What seat were you sitting on then...?

The Service At The Imperial Peking Restaurant In B
The service at the Imperial Peking restaurant in Brentwood is first class, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. As the restaurant is first class it can become rather busy on Saturday evenings, therefore, it might be best to try another night.
The food is always without exception first class, and the service standards are brilliant. It's the sort of restaurant that you can take a friend or business colleague to, and you are always assured of a good meal.

I Have Visited The Imperial Peking Restaurant In B
I have visited the Imperial Peking restaurant in Brentwood many times.
You get a basket of prawn crackers shoved under your nose on arrival.
The service is always first class, and likewise the food is served quickly (apart from on Saturday night when it can get a little busy).

Got To The Imperial Peking About 7pm And Was Seate
Got to the Imperial Peking about 7pm and was seated immediately. Although they did sit us in a 'side by side' romantic style way (I was with my Dad) so moved to a face to face table.
We hadn't even sat down and they were hassling us for a drink so asked for 5 mins, within a minute someone else was back giving out menus and asking for drinks order..okay okay some might say this is attentiveness but I found this rather irritating, they were just hovering around.
Anyway, we ordered drinks (bottle of merlot for £12) and glasses of tap water which was served with ice and decided on the £16 per person set meal.
The food was excellent, all served extremly hot and the best spare ribs I've ever had..no fat just lovely 'come away at the bone' meat.
The place was pretty emtpy when we arrived on a Tuesday night but by 8pm it was really full. Good crowd though and a few people on there own.
The bill was again a bit of a hassle, a guy came out to do the bill and he hovered by our table for about 5 mins while we were chatting and stood there while awaiting authorisation for credit card on one of those roaming machines. He kept bobbing forward and interrupting us but then had to wait a bit so held back etc etc..It was rather annoying but we paid £45 for 2 people and left. All in all a good evening but they really should teach their staff the difference between attentiveness and annoyingness (word? ha ha).
But really couldn't fault the food - superb quality although the vegtable carving with our starters was a bit phallic...ha ha.

Imperial Peking - A Restaurant Gets It Reputation
Imperial Peking - A restaurant gets it reputation from a combination of factors and this restaurant scores to the maximum in all, food, staff, service and ambience.
Even when the place is full the staff have the ability to make any diner feel that they, and they alone, have their full attention.
It is unfortunate that this rating system only goes up to 10 Stars because this restaurant should be rated much higher.
