The looks, and idea for the phone are excellent, certain features such as the wap taking you back to the page you last went to before disconnecting.
In almost a year i have been unable to find any ringtones for it. if anyone can help please email me at [email protected].
if their was one thing that lets the fone down then it is, its battery life. it is very poor. i use my fone hardly ever, and even when i do, i only use it for a maximum of 5 minutes a day, and i have to charge it up after 36 hours or so, which is pretty poor.

I had this A300 phone for the last year and quite simply couldn't wait to upgrade back to Nokia. Quite frankly it is the worst phone that I've had by far. Loss of signal is commonplace and the battery life is ridiculous. Nuff said!!

If you want a phone that looks lovely but are not too worried about the functionality this is the phone for you, however if you want to use it for communication purposes sorry but this is not the one. Sound quality is very poor, Signal reception is poor, you can only store ten messages, the vibrate alert is weak and texting could be better, it has predictive text but is limited because the dictionary cannot be added to in the way Nokia's can. Battery life is poor but you do get two batteries, but you do need them. The phone isn't all doom and gloom it has some handy features but nothing the competition doesn't have. My previous phone was the extremely ugly 7110 which was a vastly better phone in every respect maybe it's time to ditch the swan and go and find an ugly duckling. Nokia 7650 anyone?

I agree with earlier posts that this phone has a short battery life - having been a nokia user you really can tell the difference. Also it is very easy to scratch and break the outside screen. If you are storing it in a bag/pocket and it is raining the screen will break and it isn't worthwhile repairing it. The ringtones leave a lot to be desired. Not as reliable in every way as a Nokia

THE SAMSUNG SGH-A300 IS THE BEST LOOKING MOBILE PHONE AROUND BUT AFTER 2 HOURS YOU'LL BE BORED OF ITS LOOKS AND VERY IRRITATED BY THE BUTTONS, IF YOU'VE GOT BIG HANDS THEN FORGET THIS PHONE BUT IF YOU JUST WANT ONE FOR POSING THEN BUY IT!

WATCH OUT !!! All Samsung SGH-A300 mobile phones made after April or so, have a major flaw in the phone software which causes the phone to switch off once you enter text in any text field (Phonebook, SMS, etc) and press the # (Space) key. :-(
Samsung needs to update the phone EEPROM or whatsitsname.
Bought it yesterday, Returned it today.

I was eager for the Samsung A300 mobile phone to be released on the orange network, and paid a lot of money for it as I was one of the first people to have one, how dissapointed I was. The A300 beats many phones hands down in the style department but falls in all other areas. First the call clarity on the A300 is absolutely rubbish, unless you actually swallow the handset otherwise people will not be able to hear you. Text Messaging people also is a major pain in the a***! changing the case of letters and using symbols is very difficult to get used to, I have had the handset since November and still cannot grip the text messaging system on the phone. If you are a orange user with two line I seriously DO NOT! recommend getting this handset, the reason being when a call is received it displays what line the call has been made on before displaying the caller or the number, this line identification takes up all of the little blue screen and by the time the caller has been displayed they have hung up waiting for you to answer. Since November I have had THREE handsets all with similar problems! Lucky i have insurance! Overall nice looks rubbish features!

The Samsung SGH-A300 is a good mobile phone but is not very good to get ringtones for.

From my experience, Samsung A300 handphones had bugs, I and my friend who use A300 discovered hangs on it, but mine even worse, it resets itself, I had it twice. I don't know why, even Samsung's technician can't do anything, except suggest me to repair with no exact solutions for 2 weeks... wooow ! miracle I think I buy better than Motorolas clamshell V-series but I wrong. The customer service is even worse.
On the signal I discovered Samsung make a little tricks, the Signal Indicator Bar indicate I have full bar, but when I receive phone I often can't hear clearly the voice from my caller, when I use Siemens C45 it indicating only 1bar, but the voice were clear and I wondering about the signal quality of all of the Samsung products, since my friends R220 did the same ill.
I think it is a nonsense if we sacrifice the basic functions of the mobile phones, BATTERY-life and signals to the beauty Dual LCD design.
Go SIEMENS!

I have a Samsung SGH-A300 and need help. I am sending you an email to express my current situation and ask you kindly for any kind of support if possible.
My name is Mr. Jaroslav Kantor and I am from Czech Republic (Middle Europe).
I spent five days trying to find out ANY responsible man anywhere in Europe expecting I should receive any possitive message in terms of availability of necessary spare part (destroyed inner square display of cellular phone SAMSUNG SGH-A300) - display or chassis or ??.
I have bought the SGH-A300 from a local (Czech) vendor which imported SGH-A300 from Germany just for me. The reason is the phone is not officially imported to Czech.
I have spoken to a lot of people in U.K., Germany and also in Czech and the figures are as follows:
If the phone has been bought in Germany by the foreigner (and I am from Czech) and than it has been moved from German territory than it is NOT POSSIBLE TO ASK ANYONE FOR ANY KIND OF SUPORT. IS SOUNDS QUITE FUNNY TO ME
Here (in Czech) is the official importer of SAMSUNG mobiles - company GENCO, located in Prague. They gave me a short message - they are interested in to support ONLY operators. If I decided to buy the SAMSUNG mobile in abroad than I bought it at own my risk. O.K., I can only agree.
I have also spoken to European HQ of custservice (U.K.) and they are probably not able to help me.
Currently I am working like crazy to find ANY way where to buy the necessary spare part or where to make the mobile repaired or ???
Could you please help me? Thank you in advance.
Kind regards
Mr. Jaroslav Kantor

After spending £199.99 on the samsung A300 mobile phone, words can't describe my disappointment when i couldn't find any ringtones to download from the web. Getting logos and graphics is unheard of! I thought i was paying for quality as well as looks! A £40 old model nokia phone has more support for downloading stuff off the internet than the samsung mobile phone! In conclusion i have like any wise person would, deceided to return my samsung phone for a more normal phone like motorola V50 or any Nokia phone.

I have to disagree with you on some cases. I dont know if you have noticed but the Samsung SGH-A300 phone is made basically for business class people. I got the phone as an xmas gift and i've never been happier with a phone. I had for 2 years before that the BOCSH509e and getting THIS new phone is like the best thing ever! I may sound sad, but i think this phone is a top notch communication device (pardon my star treck dialog). the flippy design is cool, and you can progamm different ring tones for different people and graphics etc. However i do agree that it is disappointing that ring tones, logo etc cannot be downloaded from the internet, i think that would make the phone more fun! Apart from that the wap access and rest is cool.

The Samsung A300 is a sexy looking phone but the features are naff and i prefer my Nokia 8210!

To me the Samsung A300 looks classy but not reliable. The reception was good to look at but not while using it. Though it shows that I've got the full reception, I can't hear my friend clearly. Her voice sounded loud and soft during the conversation and this is irritating. This is not what happening to me but to my friend as well. In fact, the battery life won't last long compared to other mobile phones.

I think the Samsung A300 is a very good phone, but it does have some bad points e.g-It does'nt have any games, and it has terrible ringtones! Also sometimes the service is very bad!So i think you are wrong and write! However I dont think the samsung is a posing phone! Thankyou!
