“Get what you pay for”

★★★☆☆

written by on 19/09/2013

We stayed here in July, we got what we paid for, couldn't fault it really, yes we made our own beds and hung our towel up to dry as these weren't changed regular, I wouldn't take children here nothing for them to do , but me and my husband had a great time, and we are in our 50s, we will be returning next year along with some friends.

“We booked two weeks in Hotel Alexis (Not really a...”

written by FlynnCH on 12/01/2011

We booked two weeks in Hotel Alexis (Not really a Hotel) in Sidari with Cassidy travel in Dundrum and we have never been so disappointed about a hoiday well saved up for. First of all the place was filthy dirty there was a dead moth in the bathroom on a window ledge that wasnt touched for the two weeks we we're there the shower curtain was Filthy dirty and stuck to you because it was so small, we ran out of toilet roll (only given 1 ) and we replaced it three days later they put a sign in the room telling us that they oly provide toilet roll on arrival. The shower broke twice the first time we told them at 9am as we were going to the beach and wouldn,t return until 6pm upon arrival it still wasn't fixed we complained and within 5 mins it was fixed but it happened again and the same situation arised. The beds were filthy and changed twice a week. There was a ceste pool ( sewerage pool ) across the road from us and the smell was horrific. The Staff we're so Rude and unhelpfull. We got to know some of the local people and we told them where we were staying and they shook their heads in disappointment and said that Hotel Alexis is known for being really dirty and that the staff don't care. Also beware of the excursion trip scams. Albania is not worth 100 euro to visit

A positve note is that Sidari is a Great place everyone is friendly the food is amazing the beach is such a good location whatever hotel you stay in the entertainment is unreal. Please visit Sidari just DO NOT STAY IN HOTEL ALEXIS!!!!!!!

We stayed at the alexis for 2 weeks aug 27th till sept 10th. The staff were always helpful and freindly. The cleaners were more than adequte. It is basic, but ! The rooms, bar , pool, are good too.. Bar food is well cooked and presented, we enjoyed it. The alexis is 5 mins from the main strip, bars restaurants, nightclubs, shops and of course the beaches. The alexis warrants more than the 1 star it has. A must is. Mosquito spray/ repellant or you can purchase a plug in version. You might try the house special ( submarine ) it's a drink.

i have just returned from a 7 day break, I was disheartened when I read the previous reviews. I had a fantastic break at the Alexis Apartments. The room was dated, but it had everything I needed, this place is perfect for a quite rest. bars, shops, restaurants and the beach is a 5 minute walk - perfect. The people at Alexis were very welcoming and friendly, always happy and helpful. I would recommend this place and return. I would advise you to stock up on mosquito spray and get Air Con as the nights are very hot. I look forward to returning there one day. Irene, Mary and Costas were lovely people, very friendly.

written by on 27/08/2009

When we arrived at the alexis pool studio hotel we were left on a dirt track at about 10pm for approx 45 minutes until the owner decided to turn up. The room we were given was in the alexis annex and looked like a prison cell with no natural light, and it looked like no one had stayed there or cleaned for months as there were cob webs everywhere and mosquitos splatted all over the walls. We could not use our toliet as it didnt flush, the shower was stained and filthy and i fell through my bed due to the lats on the bed not fixed properly. The view from our shared balcony was of an old barn which was full of rubbish and bricks and after the first 2 nights we were covered from head to toe in mosquito bites even though we had a plug in and spray. There were not enough safety despoit boxes for everyone so we ended up carring our passports and tickets around all holiday. Speaking to our rep was a waste of time as she said she couldnt do anything and just said we had to write in when we get home, so we ended up leaving and paying to stay in another hotel (Christops Appartmnents Canal D Amour) which was brilliant.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and i honestly cannot give any positive comments but i will say all the better hotels are at the other end of sidari near the cliffs and Canal D Amour.

written by regoryarg on 18/09/2008

Having been on numerous Greek holidays this rates as the worst holiday we've had mainly due to accommodation which is alongside a noisy busy road in a run down Sidari. We were in room 12 (ground floor) balcony overlooking a wall with no privacy on the front or back. On the 1st evening, we sat in the sun on the otherside of the balcony to read and were told rudely we couldn't sit there. Our room and others were flooded. After a meeting with the rep in the bar we we told to leave immediately. After noisy, hot and sleepless night we were glad to get home. Sidari-Never again

written by on 18/07/2008

Just returned from a week at these apartments and was surprised they had a three star rating. Only saw two members of staff all week, the pool/bar guy and the cleaner. The reception area was like a ghost town, no atmosphere or entertainment. The cleaner came everyday to empty the bin in the toilet but that's all, no toilet rolls or clean towels all week and the shower leaked all over the floor so wearing shoes in bathroom is a must . Someone was sick outside our apartment which was right beside the pool and this was not cleaned up whilst I was there. Sidari itself is lively for young people with plenty of clubs and bars and the foods not bad. Watersports at beach more expensive this year. All in all, been there and done that but wont be back especially to these apartments.

Non existent check in, not much information from the tour rep, no welcoming drink.
The pool area, location, bar and food were good but I do not think it warrants anything above a 2*. busy road, scooters late at night, (on closing) packing up the complex whilst we were still there. Bed linen was stained even after being cleaned. Decor needs updating as does the furniture. Bathroom shower could have been bigger and was smelly due to stagnant water as the drain was situated in the wrong place.

written by cheri oldfield on 04/08/2007

Sidari is a great place to visit if you like sunbathing and eating/drinking out. Alexis Pool Apartments are in the ideal place if this is the type of holiday you enjoy, as they are near enough to the town centre to stagger back from and far enough away for peace and quiet. I would recommend this place for couples, singles and families as the staff appear to be very family orientated. Although Sidari itself does not appear to have a lot of choice in activities and landmarks. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheap food and had some very good nights out whilst away. The staff that work at Alexis Pool Apartments are very friendly and helpful.

★★★★★

written by wbruce on 04/09/2004

I would recommend Alexis Pool Studios to couples/families/single groups - they simple cater for everyone. Located just behind the main street so easy to stagger back to your apartment but tucked out of the way from the disco music so you can get to sleep at night.

If you don't wish to laze around the pool or go down to the beach Zoom bar also has a TV and reading area. Books can be exchanged and Costa is happy to let you know what is happening around the world when the news comes on. They also hold set theme nights which consist of music/sport/general knowledge quizzes, killer pool & bingo usually hosted by your rep. Drinks are cheaper here than in the main street too!

written by jnttalls on 10/07/2004

We had been very dubious of staying at the Alexis pool having read the reviews on the net, once we arrived we were glad that we did not change our mind, yes the rooms are small but the brochure did say this, we also had a kettle and toaster, the rooms were clean and the bins emptied every day apart from a Wednesday. The pool area was very clean and so is the pool, there were plenty of sun-beds (no need to get up and reserve them) Irene, Costa's and Costa's jnr were all very friendly, and the bar was not unreasonably priced. The main road was busy but nothing to worry about, and the centre of Sidari is a 2 minute walk but we did not hear the noise and we were overlooking the pool area on to the main road area, the only time we heard noise was when Greece won the qualifying football!!!! We were travelling with Kosmar as were all the guests and Kosmar are offering on a 1st come 1st serve basis free safety deposit boxes. Go and enjoy yourselves you will have a good time.

“Alexis Pool Studios are located in the centre of...”

★★★★★

written by Janine on 21/05/2004

Alexis Pool Studios are located in the centre of Sidari, the good thing is that it is behind the main street, so you are not right on top of all the noise. The resort consists of one main strip which is one way to traffic, the road that Alexis is on was built for the purpose of the one way system and only has a couple of hotels located on it. Do be careful though if you have small children, although its not a very busy road, I would not rate the standard of driving! The studios are quite small, but they are clean and nice. There is a pool and poolside snack bar and you're not too far from all the amenities.

I am coming to Sadari 24th July 2016 for 2 weeks, looked at the Alexis apartments, are they okay, or can you suggest any more? I need a apartment not a studio, for 2 people.
