Rebecca Winters
Harlequin SuperRomance, Jun 2004, $5.25, 296 pp.
ISBN: 0373712103
After ending her relationship with her fianc reporter Ed Strickland, Leslie Hopkins never anticipated Ed would stalk her. After a few months of Ed harassing her to take him back, Leslie's sister and brother-in-law arranges for a change of her identity, disappear, and start new. Out west, Leslie learns that Pierre Gallagher of Moose, Wyoming is advertising for a housekeeper to watch his six-year-old child Cory while he works a ranger in Grand Teton National Park.
Though he figures she is running away, Pierre hires the obviously over qualified Leslie. Rather quickly, Cory and Leslie fall in love as if she was his mother. Soon Ed also falls in love with his employee; Leslie reciprocates. However, Ed uses his journalist skills to locate the woman he cherishes and will kill to keep her with him. Leslie would rather die than allow any harm come to her beloved Gallaghers.
This exciting romantic suspense hooks the audience from the moment Leslie flees New York to escape the fatal attraction of Ed. Though readers will expect the serpent to destroy Eden, the incomparable Rebecca Winters lulls the audience and the heroine into thinking Ed will never find her in her rustic environs enjoying life with the two men she loves.
