Kololi, Sunset Beach Hotel

I have stayed at Sunset Beach Hotel twice and am going back next year. It is the best atmosphere I have stayed at in all my years abroad. I go alone and felt completely safe at all times.

we have been going to gambia since 1989 go every year not always to the same hotel ,been all over we have been going to sarges 7years now ,staff are great with us, our tour guide couldn't do enough for you, and shows you the true gambia, going back again this year!!

We had a lovely room at Sunset Beach Hotel, and this was kept extremely clean by our maid. The pool was extremely clean, and kept that way. The poolside bar was good value, and served great food. (try the lobster!) The restaurant was excellent, good food and service. (Try their bread for breakfast, very more-ish). The resort had an excellent view over the beach, and sunsets were just perfect. No I don't wear rose tinted glasses; this is probably the best value hotel in the Gambia. All of the staff including the manager couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. Stay there!

Sunset Beach Hotel is a brilliant hotel in every way, I have stayed in about 9/10 different places in the Gambia and this has to be no1 in my book.

The staff cant do enough for you and the rooms are lovely with air con tele safes, and they are so clean - the maid can do your washing for you before you go so you don't have a week of washing to do when you get home.

There is also security staff as the sunset is right on the beach but the bumsters don't come anywhere near as the security is there 24/7, a fab family hotel as well as a couples total chill out place. GO, AND YOU'LL LOVE IT.

Kololi Sunset Beach Hotel - Excellent standard of accomdation, we stayed in a Garden room which we were told was the basic room but was far more superior than some of the better rooms in some other hotels. Satelite TV, Fridge and A/C as standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful but not to the point where you feel over attended. The private section of the beach had security guards stationed on it so as to stop street vendors from nagging you when all you wanted to do was relax and sunbathe. We stayed B&B, the breakfast was a buffet style with fruits, breads, cheeses, cereal, bacon, sausage and eggs to order which proved to be more than adequate for starting the day off. We occaisionaly ate food from the snack menu which was good. We didn't use the restaurant at nite as we were always out trying other places. Overall an excellent holiday.
