"bought" reg as a gift on the Saturday, by Tuesday hadn't heard anything so I chased. Sent me response saying they'd contact the seller the next day. Why didn't they contact them immediately? Surely this should be an automated process? Wednesday arrives and I receive an email saying the seller is no longer selling the reg. So now they have all my personal details, my credit card and I have no reg. At the point of check out it should be very clear that they are a broker and that the reg may not be available for purchase.

They couldn't care less about their service - Make you pay for things they don't even provide then refuse to refund you!! Even after paying over £300 upfront! Please avoid them and go elsewhere!

Rude staff directors are too good to give you a call sale easy to contact after sale are not won’t give me a refund avoid avoid avoid. I’m stuck with a reg I have no need for !!!! Extremely angry

I have had nothing but issues with newref.co.uk regarding getting my plates as I was not told that certain details needed sending vie post and they don't accept emails for the required docs. Then once I rang twice they said they couldn't accept a letter from my local council confirming my address. As I have bought private reg's before I would recommend using regtranfers instead as it's fast and they have more helpful staff unlike newreg.co.uk. I will never shop with this company again and would advise if you like being treated with respect and like a quick service to avoid this company.

I would strongly advise anyone to speak to the DVLA first before contacting this company. This company charges extortionate fees for services that have recently become free of charge from the DVLA. Yes administration charges from such a company is acceptable but £80 charge for getting NewReg to ask the DVLA for a copy of the most recent certificate of entitlement? Utter joke. Do not use this company - they are there to simply take your money.

Ordered a number plate for my daughters 21st , got sent an e mail to tell me they would be in touch . 3 weeks later when I eventually got through to them they told me the plate had been sold to someone else ????? Blamed it on someone they had just sacked as he wasn't doing his job properly , very sorry Yadah Yadah yada usual excuses and guff , don't even bother with this company

I wanted to sell my plate. I was happy with their valuation and accepted it. Then - nothing. I went through the process a second time. Still nothing. I emailed them and that just bounced back - yes, the contact email they give you doesn't actually work. It appears that there is in fact NO process for selling your plate - it is just another way of bringing users to their website. They've wasted a good chunk of my time, and I sure as hell wouldn't buy (or try to sell) anything from them. Avoid!

I brought my dad a number plate for his 50th birthday. I ordered the plate over the phone from Australia to be delivered to my dad in the uk. I paid thinking he was going to receive the plates within 10 days. He had sent his paper work off. Dvla hades registered his normal plates and 3 months later he finally received his personalised number plates from new reg!! In that 3 months he had no number plate registered on his car , his insurance was void!! We made numerous phone calls from myself in Australia and from the uk by my dad. They were extremely rude and did not care in the least. They even hung up the phone a few times. My dad always wanted a personalised number plate and would of been a amazing gift for him but it was totally ruined. Please do not buy from this company!! What they did was illegal. You can buy the same plates for as much money from other sites. If I would of seen these reviews first I wouldn't of bothered!!! Buyers beware!!!! After the wait of 14 weeks I asked for next day delivery, they refused.

Now if u want a headache, hassel. N work with a bunch  that dont know how to keep contact with customer this is the site for you. Staff and company in general as a shambles. As for answering there phone god its like xmas when they do.. wost company I have ever delt with in my life purchased reg end of January am now half way through march n still no further ahead.. really are the worst reg people u could possibly deal with.. the stress these folk have caused me over buying such a simple item is unbelievable not add the amount of time these folk have taken up of my life dealing with this horrible experience. . The team at new reg are nothing short of hopeless. I really regret using their supposedly hassle free service which has been 10x more hassle than the DVLA. They are unable to send the plates I purchased for my father's birthday even though they have all the documents they need. They will not cancel my order as I have asked. They now do not reply to my emails, hold my plates and my money. Avoid at all costs.

Don't believe that they are cheaper - because they aren't. The easiest and chepeast way to buy a registration is from the DVLA directly. Newreg buy from the DVLA too - for the same price as you can. They then advertise it cheaper and rip you off if you want to do anything with it. They force you to buy their physical plates (which you can get much cheaper online etc) and if you want to renew the certificate, they charge 3x more than the DVLA do. They make money from catching people out. Don't believe the positive 5 star reviews on this site as they were clearly posted by newreg staff...!!!!!!

Ordered and paid for my plate a week ago. And still have not received 1 email or letter or anything. I have called 3 times to which I get the response "Yes it's ordered, we will send the e mail again"? 3 times and still nothing. Number 4 today wish me luck.

I would definatly not recommend new reg to anyone,i recently bought some number plates from them,and when i realised i cant actually use the plates they refused a refund,pretty much saying that because its a personalised item they cant refund it,well arnt all the number plates personlised! After many phonecalls,emails etc and accepting there was going to be no refund i found them very unhelpful with what to do next,i also found them very rude in telling me what i had and hadnt been told.There terms and conditions are very contradictory also.I would highly reccomend to NOT buy from them.

Went to DVLA website and saw the plate I wanted for 1500 quid which said was available to purchase on a certain date. A few days later I saw the same plate on Newreg for 100 cheaper and available for immediate purchase. I purchased the plate on my card and as far as I was concerned it was sold. Then later that day I had an email from them saying they made a mistake and it wasn't for sale. I went to dvla site and it had gone. The only plate I wanted for my daughters 18. The plate was AN14BEL. I should have done it through DVLA.

Newreg have a very simply business model - advertise registration marks claiming that they are cheaper than the DVLA and then seriously rip people off when they actually try to use the plate. They force you to buy the physical number plates, even though you may not want them however that's not the biggest problem... If you don't asign the plate to a car within 12 months, they charge you £80 to extend the entitlement for another 12, despite the fact that the DVLA only charge £25. Avoid at all costs and use the DVLA!!!

They Are not cheaper than dvla as they have extra charges and make you buy number plates wether you need or require them or not and if you try to cancell they keep 10% of your payment and claim its non refundable even though dvla state as below .. All to advise is from dealing with once i wouldnt use them again personally i would go direct to dvla who would of cost less for me even though new reg said they were cheaper before i bought from them dvla have ,no hidden costs dont make you buy plates from them and are more professional than this bunch at new reg in my experience DVLA If you have not already applied to assign this vehicle registration number, you can cancel your purchase by emailing us at [email protected] within 10 working days after the date of purchase. Bought a reg of this outfit a 3 years ago for my daughter for £650, but was unable to put it on her car due to it be older than the reg plate year number and you cannot make an old car look newer by the plate. So until I put it on a car I am charged £80 per year.
