Overall the Piaggio The Grand Tourismo 125 an amazing 125cc - despite its heavy weight, centre stand is easy to use.

Now done 800 miles plus through the winter and spring

Overtaken my Kawasaki KH125 I had 17 years ago!

Sorry to disappoint Laurence9618 but his Piaggio (Vespa) Granturismo 125 doesn't have abs or triple disc brakes, just a single disc at the front with another single disc at the rear (did he believe dealer-spiel? It's easy enough to tell though just by looking). Perfectly adequate brakes though for a 125, even a 138 kg one. They do feel even heavier I know, probably because of the highish seat and metal bodywork giving a higher than usual centre of gravity. By the way you can now get a Vespa GTS with abs here in Spain (with 250 cc injected engine). At the moment not available in the UK though. Price in Spain is over £200 less than for same model in UK without abs!

Timblack57's Response to 197091_Laurence9618's Review

I have worked out that Laurence's review for the "Piaggio The Grand Tourismo 125 Scooter" must be for the Piaggio X9 125, and not for the Piaggio Vespa Granturismo 125 (shown in the photo). The X9 125 does indeed have triple disc brakes - but not ABS - and weighs a genuinely hefty 179kg (2006 model), making it quite underpowered. The X9 250 is a better bet, as the power to weight ratio is more favourable. Definitely worth the extra 350 or so quid.

<br/>Shame we couldn't tell which bike Laurence9618 was reviewing, "The Grand Tourismo", was that some hyperbole remembered from the sales brochure?
