“Had the Suzuki Burgman 250 for 2 months,...”

★★★☆☆

written by sed8ta on 08/01/2009

Had the Suzuki Burgman 250 for 2 months, November-December and loving it to bits as the protection is better then any bike I've ever ridden or had, even the BMW K100LT. Very nice ride at reasonable speeds. comfort level is on a par with big touring machines. I find it the ideal commuting tool as I don't do motorways on my commute but do hit some A-roads (110kmh). acceleration is good, filtering is fantastic. I do find that cars don't expect you to be away from the lights faster then them so they start honking at you at the lights (never had that on my other bikes). The thing I miss most is the cruising speed as this bike means I can't go on the yearly pilgrimage to a MotoGP race Brno this year) with the guys. For that you would really need a 650 scoot. My scooter has now done38400kms (24000mls) and needs the drivetrain replacing which I will do with a polini or Malossi kit so I get a bit more top speed.
Good transport as long as you don't do motorways.
Perfect replacement for a car
does not rust when left outside (yet)

I valued your review, I had a test run on Burgman 125 18/2 felt good, I plan to buy new 200cc however the dealer never mentioned 250cc nor does the brochure for Suzuki where can I get AN 250 are they available in Scotland?
I have a Honda CBF 500cc but at 5" I find it a bit top heavy
Enjoy your bike

I'm not a very confident rider and have only had my L's for not quite 2 months. I have a 250 Burgman and just want to know if anyone else has any problems with cross and head on winds? If so, what do you do to help you with balance etc? Maybe it's just because I'm still only learning the ropes etc. Have only reached 80km a couple of times, just not liking going at these speeds just yet. I do have a very supportive husband though.. Can anyone please help me!
