Silvertone Shredder

This guitar makes for a great guitar to learn on. I've been playing for over a year now and have learned everything I know on my Silvertone. After you reach a certain point in learning, this guitar leaves much to be desired. Sweeping isn't possible because of the pickups. Since there is only one uncovered humbucker, you get a lot of extra unwanted noise while playing. Down tuning this guitar works well, except if you drop below drop C. The strings become very loose and the low end pickups are useless. In standard tuning, this guitar isn't bad. It sounds great clean, and great with distortion. Just don't expect to become the next Van Halen using just this guitar.

I love my silvertone shredder it was my first electric guitar and im glad it was it gave me the sound i wanted and was durable for my style of playing i think that the silvertone shredder is an excelent choice for beginners. The only thing i didnt like was well i am more of a to humbucker guy but the sound from the pickups basically fit my standards so im not going to argue.

24 frets lightweight. Funny wiring for 3 pickup config, no tone on bridge pickup..too much low end but it's cheap.

This is a good guitar to start with if you don't want to spend a lot of money. If you know that you want to play the guitar for a long time you should get something that is of a higher quality to avoid paying for a replacement or a repair.

For the price, the Silvertone Shredder guitar is awesome. The fact that this is a "beginner guitar" doesn't sway me, a seasoned musician with over 15 years experience with guitars, keyboards, and audio/stage equipment. A beginner might think this guitar is not-so-hot, because they need more practice. I can make this guitar sound the way I want. When I put some heavy strings on it, and plug it into a quality amp, it will sound excellent. It's all about being a musician.
