Loved The Layout For Our Family Needs, Very Pratic

Loved the layout for our family needs, very pratical, below average finish,we had on going problems with dividing curtain coming out of track, the locker housing the 2 tables fell off, the front bed fell apart when pulling it out. Last easter whilst away the gas regulator stopped working, the microwave oven packed in, it was very cold with two small chidren with no gas fire heating or cooking facilities. Our experience has been everytime we had a problem we found a reluctance from the manufacturer to fix the fault. They said it had a 3 year warranty, the dealer did not tell us at any time that this was conditional on the van been dealer serviced on the annuity of purchase of the van. We have always had our van serviced in Maerch at the start of ther season, unfortunately I bought this van in late July & so missed the annuity service so warranty invalid. We had to fix our own microwave oven etc as Elldis did not want to know , despite my sending e mails to their customer services team leader who never replied they did not want to know. Their dealer Wandahome Ferrybridge only seem interested in you pre purchase there is no aftercare or support unless they are getting well paid for their services. I would not recoment either Elldis or their dealer to anyone, all they seem interested in doing is making the sale. What a shame as we love the van despite it faults. I would certainly never consider Elldis or their Dealer again based onmmy experience , which is a complete contrast to my previous experience with Lunar & their dealer who both bent over backwards to help

This Caravan Has Had No Thought For Use.i Purchase

This caravan has had no thought for use.I purchased the caravan new but you need to use a caravan to find the faults.

The front hatch, battery compartment door, toilet emptying hatch door all have no handles?I have broken the plastic cover on the key trying to use this.My wife has broken her finger nails and I get so frustrated trying to open these doors.

My fridge did not work for the period I had to wait for a new one.

I have had the caravan back to the dealer two times because the main door has to be slammed to close. The problem is still there but the dealer says this is a common fault with this van.PS They did not say this when I was paying for it. The front curtain will not close but I was told this was only for show.

I have had the ripples down the side of my van pointed out to me by several other campers who say the metal is too thin but the dealer says this is normal for this van?

The electric plug point inside of the front of the van and the tv socket have been put in the wrong place so have to be disconnected each time you use the front bed.

The shower unit, although I realise is not usable because it is in the toilet should have the facility to turn the water supply off.Twice my grand kids have been soaked while using the toilet because the lever is so easy to catch.

I am so dissapointed in this purchase.

Back Up For Spares Is Terrible = Elddis Would Only

Back up for spares is terrible = Elddis would only refer me to authorised dealers who unless I would commision them to do the work were not interested in supplying parts.

I recently needed a complete coupling unit for my ten year old caravan but could not find a dealer prepared to supply one (albeit at circa £500) unless I commision them to fit it.

Luckily 'Indespension' stocked an alternative for £200 which fitted perfectly apart from some minor linkage alterations which took 10 mins (the dealer told me that no alternatives were available). The Explorer Group need to take some lessons from people like Mercedes who cherish older model owners.

(the car not the person).

Ours Elddis Caravan Was Second Hand But Looked Aft

Ours Elddis caravan was second hand but looked after well. We used it every year for family holidays - 2 adults 2 young teens. It is stable at 60mph towing, has never (touch wood) leaked, is warm and comfortable. Still going strong this year too. All in all it is a great van.

We Bought The Elddis Explorer Group Typhoon Vogue

We bought the Elddis Explorer Group Typhoon Vogue caravan brand new, The o ring in the gas fire was split, we didnt know and we got carbon monoxide posioning and was violently sick. The glass gaurd fell off the cooker whilst in transit. The layout was all wrong. The double bed at front of van, side dinnette and rear bathroom, Hence the caravan didnt tow very well. It snaked and swayed. The wardrobe door opened in transit and the dealer had to put an extra catch on it. The heating didnt work, not even blown air. The cushions collapsed whilst in bed, flat as flat, very uncomfortable. The sink drained into the shower tray, and we didnt dare use the shower. We only had the caravan 3 days it went back to the dealer, and rejected to the finance company. So beware Elddis is part of the explorer group, who manufacture other caravans.
