Quite a snobby shop which I decided not to use in the end. I found the designs rather limited and they deliberately put me in an unflattering dress to start with which was a bit confidence destroying. Having said that I received some good advice on bridesmaid dresses and their gowns are beautiful. But to my mind for the money they are not that unique compared to all the others out there. In the end, despite having the budget for bespoke, I bought off the peg because it meant not having to contend with designer's egos and finding a dress that I actually felt was truly "me". Don't believe the hype!

I believe that some people understand what weddings are about - they are a big day and people want to receive excellent service when parting with almost £3,000 pounds. Nice dresses, pot luck on staff.

Thanks for the supporting comment.
My main issue here was not the price quote it was more about the atmosphere/service.
I should first say that I am getting my wedding dress from you and am delighted to be doing so. Also I can't comment on any changes in prices as I have not experienced any. But I do feel I have to support kateef's comment re: staff. Whilst the majority of your staff are lovely, I have found one in particular to appear extremely offhand on a number of occasions when I've been in. The worst of these involved them seeming quite rude to my bridesmaids (who had travelled a considerable distance to view my dress with me) when they - very politely - asked this staff member to bring over a few veils for me to try. Hardly an unreasonable request when in a bridal shop! They were completely taken aback and to be honest, if I hadn't already been into the shop and had a positive experience with other staff members, I certainly would not have gone ahead and purchased a dress from you.
Now I know everyone has their off days and I'm a fairly easygoing sort who normally lets stuff slide, but I'm pretty sure we are referring to the same individual so I feel I have to speak up as I don't think her point is just about an unexpected price change. It's such a shame because as I've said before, everyone else I have met at JH has been lovely, as are the dresses. I hope you manage to address it!

Upon completion, my dress was wonky. One side of the bust line was higher than the other side. At first, they refused to admit it, and said everyone has one breast bigger than the other! But after asking a few fellow shoppers, for impartial advise, they were forced to admit that there had been a mistake. I got the dress back a few weeks later. It was improved slightly, but one side of it was still a lot higher than the other one. As I was getting married within the week, they said there was nothing else they could do in the time that was available, and no discount was offered!

It is difficult to comment as we do not know who this bride is or which dress she is talking about? But we wonder if she is in fact, one of our brides? At Johanna Hehir we still make all our dresses in England, unlike the majority of bridal dresses sold in the UK. We always strive for a perfect fit, which is the whole point of made to measure. Occasionally we have brides who lose or gain weight after the dress has already been made to fit them. If this happens very close to the wedding day, and leaves us no time to correct, then it is unfair to blame us. We would not make a "wonky dress", and therefore question this review, particularly in view of the number of positive reviews we continue to receive.

We often have brides who want to make minor changes to the original design which we are usually happy to accommodate. But occasionally we get brides who want to make changes or re-design the dress in such a way that it is either technically not a good idea or unlikely to flatter the bride in our professional opinion. We are entitled to charge extra for these changes or to decline the order, particularly if we feel the bride will not like the end result. Unfortunately some brides are unwilling to accept this or pay extra.
