Unfortunately, I Have Been Very Disappointed By Th

Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed by the management at Moon Palace. I went on the tour of the facilities and received a voucher for 2 rounds of golf. Later I decided that I didn't want to play and wanted the spa package instead. They said "no problem." That should have been the indicator that it would be a problem. I received a different voucher for 2000 pesos to apply to the spa services. The person who gave me the voucher said to present the voucher at check out. When I went to check out of the hotel, I was informed that I had to use it at the time I booked the spa. I wish someone had told me that when I booked the spa. Now, no one will honor the voucher. I highly recommend that when you go to the Palace Resorts that you ask every single question possible to make sure that you do not have any surprises at checkout because NO ONE WILL HELP YOU.

I found this review not helpful because...it's only only one problem that was experience.

How about commenting about the 99.9% of things at the Moon Palace which no one can moan about!

Moon Palace Is By Far The Best Holiday i have ever Been Too, Moon Palace Is Amazing Itself But The Staff Make It Seem More Worth While. Every Night was Worth Looking Forward To As You Knew That The staff Were Going To Make It Much More Fun For Both Adults And Children I Would Definitely Recommend This holiday To All people. Whilst We Were Staying At Moon palace We Met 2 Of The Entertainment Staff They were Really Fun To Be Around They Were Really Funny And Very Polite And Kind, They Are The Reason That I Would Like To Go To Moon palace Again As well As Other Things.

Hello James, I see you stayed at the Moon Palace in May? Can I ask if it was busy? We've always stayed in October the past 3 times, however thinking about going in May this time - thinking maybe it's going to be very busy? Could you please comment?

Me And My Family Has Been To Moon Palace 5 Times (

Me and my family has been to Moon Palace 5 times (Nizuc side 2 times and Sunrise side 3 times). Personally I think the sunrise side is better because it is nicer and newer, but what is good on the Nizuc side is that you have the kids club. What we did is that we took a shuttle in the morning from sunrise to Nizuc so we had the better hotel but also the kids club. But both hotels are really clean and luxurious. I have seen a lot of complaints about the food but I find the food is amazing and you do not wait long in line he longest we have waited in line was about 10 minutes. I find the food is delicious but everybody has there own opinion I guess. But the best meal I find is the breakfast buffet so if you go to Moon Palace you should go to a buffet for breakfast and a la carte for supper and for lunch both buffet and a la carte are good. But all in all the restaurants are really good. Before I continue a suggestion I could give you is bring fancy clothes and men bring pants because some restaurants have dress codes. Another suggestion I could give you is that in the morning go early to get towels and put them on chairs under the shade because if you come after breakfast all the chairs will be in the sun.The pool is amazing, it is so huge and they have beautiful water and the swim up bars are really cool and you guys have to try a Pina Colada. But the pools are amazing except in summer because they are so hot. But in all the pools are amazing. So many people say the beach is horrible but it is not that bad. There is seaweed on the edge of the beach but when you get in the water is not a nice color but there is no seaweed. If you really hate the beach you can go to other sister hotels beaches. But on our beach there is the most beautiful sand ever and is so soft so if you just want to relax then get a chair under the shade and relax. The rooms are really beautiful you get a lot in the rooms and they are air conditioned and well cleaned. They are really beautiful. The service at the hotel is amazing the workers will always be there when you need them with things if there is problems for example with your room. Checking in is usually never a problem but try not to get there early because if you are at the hotel early the you can not go to your room right away. It will not be ready until the time they tell you but will your waiting you can go to the pool. Checking out is usually never a problem either. The shows at night are really good also they are really entertaining and fun to watch but don't forget to get there on time to get a good seatsThe kids clubs are really entertaining for children 12 and under because they do a lot of activities like going to the beach and having a whip cream fight or even going to the pool but don't forgot to get a schedule so you know what activities you are doing.Last year July 2007 I went to Moon Palace and I find it was way to hot, it almost hit 100 farenheight you could hardly walk on the floor without burning your feet and when you went in the pool it didn't cool you off because it was so hot so I don't suggest you guys to go during the summerDuring your trip you can also go visit sister hotels by taking a bus and the sister hotels have much better beaches so I suggest you to go visit other hotels. A nice one is Sun Palace. For outdoor activities I suggest you to go to Wet in Wild, Excaret, Isla Miugeres and Jungle tour but I suggest jungle tour only for adults because it is very rough. If you do an outdoor activity don't forgot to reserve early at the counter.I hope this information has helped you and trust me Moon Palace is an amazing hotel just try it. All 5 times I have gone I have loved it. So have a safe and fun vacation

We Went To The Moon Palace For Our Honeymoon In 20

We went to the Moon Palace for our Honeymoon in 2004, from the minute we arrived in the Hotel Lobby we were treated like Royalty, we were greeted with Champagne before being shown to our luxurious room. Extremely Friendly Staff, Beautiful Rooms, Excellent Food, Perfect Location and Amazing Pools with swim up bars. The holiday was amazing and we hope to return this year.

Our Room Was Breathtaking - Spacious, Clean, Fresh

Our room was breathtaking - spacious, clean, fresh, and beautiful. Its balcony was approximately 10 yards from the beach. While booking, we briefly considered a lower priced room without an ocean view... but upon arrival were glad we opted to spend the few extra $$ as there are no words to amply describe waking up to a spectacular ocean view each morning.

Many reviews we read prior to booking warned of the amount of walking that was involved from getting from one side of the resort to the other, but honestly, every walk you take is picturesque and enjoyable. But if the thought of walking any distance bothers you, there are golf carts readily available throughout the resort.

Honeymooners will appreciate the Nizuc pool more than the Sunrise pool as the latter is quite loud and usually more densely populated with children... probably due to the kiddie water slide/pool area which is notably absent on the Nizuk side (Clearly by design.) Still there was never any shortage of sun beds at either pool no matter what time of day we got there. Additionally, the service at both was out of this world!

The beach activities are plentiful and, in a word, awesome! We especially recommend jet skiing!! All of these activities can be charged directly to your room, which is both safe and convenient! The water is not quite "crystal" clear - but it is definitely clean (some seaweed). Nevertheless, if you're looking for Mexico's utopian beach, you should check out the Sun Palace Resort.

The food was flawless. We spent most of our meals at various buffets because the selection is immense and there is always something for everyone. The Italian restaurant on the golf course is also quite good. Every meal time, we were received with smiling faces from the staff and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was always fresh and tasty and the options were practically limitless. The pool offers paella, hamburgers, and of course, ice cream! Night owls will be pleased to discover the resort has 24-hour room service... though a bit limited in selection, it always arrives at your room quickly. All in all, the food at the Moon Palace is outstanding!

Every night the entertainment staff put on some kind of show such as karaoke, beach parties, and cabaret. Our favorite was a Michael Jackson impersonator. The thought and effort that is put into these shows cannot be emphasized enough.

All in all, our experience at the Moon Palace was terrific. The apex of our wedding celebration.

I Have Been Meaning To Write This Review For A Whi

I have been meaning to write this review for a while now. We stayed in the Mayan riviera/Cancun every Christmas. This past year we stayed at Cancun, Moon Palace Hotel. We thought everything looked immaculate at first, the rooms were beautiful the service was great, but then we started to wake up with bites! We just ignored them initially thinking that they were mosquito bites or sand flea bites. After a few days we were covered in these unbelievably itchy raised welts covering our ankles, calves, between our fingers, and our backs. We quickly realised they were bedbug bites, it was too late in the evening to switch rooms so we wore long sleeved shirts and pyjama pants that night. The next morning our ankles were swollen with bites, where our pants had rode up. We tried to tell the customer service lady what was going on when we asked to switch rooms and she sort of rolled her eyes at us like we were just overreacting Americans, she asked if we left the patio door open and perhaps things were flying in and biting us. This was definitely not the case. We switched rooms and the bites started again. Needless to say this ruined our trip we enjoyed the sun and the pool but were forced to stay in rooms with these bugs. We asked other guests if they were being bitten but I think many mistake the bites for mosquitoes as we initially did. I would not recommend staying here.

Myself An My Wife Just Got Back From The Moon Pala

Myself an my wife just got back from the Moon Palace after a weeks holiday there. It really is an amazing place. I love Mexico anyway. We got a good deal through mexicanholiday.co.uk and the owner of the company actually called us when we were there, to make sure everything was OK. You can't beat service like that and coupled with the fact the this hotel is simply out of this world, I'm really finding it hard to say a bad thing about the whole holiday. Basically, if you go on holiday to Cancun stay at the Moon Palace, you won't be disappointed!

I Actually Posted A Review About Moon Palace Befor

I actually posted a review about Moon Palace before about 2 years ago, after we had the pleasure of being there for the 2 weeks of our beautiful honeymoon dream.

We visited again 2 years later (Sep 06), just before our second anniversary, as due to work commitments we couldn't actually be there for then but still booked it as an anniversary holiday cos it was!

Once again, it was that bit of heaven we'd remembered from last time we visited, only much much better. We were a bit worried about going, to tell the truth. You see we booked the holiday more than 6 months in advance thinking that the devastation that Hurricane Wilma left places in, will have been resolved by then but we kept reading stories about the mess Cancun is still in. A few weeks before our departure we had a letter from Thomson's to say that the hotel was 80% operational. Perhaps this doesn't sound perfect to a lot of you but you have to realise that Moon Palace is a huge complex, so you are not likely to stumble across the 20% unless you go looking for it like we did, just out of interest.

Anyway, getting to the hotel from the airport was the same old story, I must stress how important it is that none of you are lured in to all the operatives calling out to you from their stands as you walk out from the airport to find your reps. Ignore them, tell them your fine. Outside you will see a Thomson rep or whoever you are going with, in their uniform, ignore everyone else and go straight to them.

The driveway of Moon Palace is 20 minutes long, told you it was huge! Whilst we were there, the driveway was still one of the things being repaired properly due to Hurricane Wilma, about 50 men out there in the heat working very hard. Ladies, how can you even resist with just that detail!

We drove up to the hotel, got our luggage from the coach and a bellboy immediately came up to take it off us. I must say we were both surprised to find he actually remembered us, as we did him. It is quite nice but shocking considering the thousands that go there. Anyway we checked in, got gold wrist bands this time for anniversary couples and they asked what day our anniversary is so we told them it's a week after we leave but the holiday was actually booked to celebrate nearly 2 years of marriage, at the time. They were more than happy with this and understood. They took our passports to hold onto, gave us both a towel card and card keys to our room. We then went up to our bell boy to let him know the room we've been allocated and walked off into heaven, aka the rest of the hotel.

I remember our honeymoon suite was gorgeous but this was really swish. They had done a hell of a lot of work on most rooms since the hurricane and I couldn't believe they were better, considering I didn't think they could be better than last time!

42" flat screen TV above a long mahogany unit opposite the bed. The unit consists of three big and wide draws either side, with the middle containing the mini fridge which is refilled every 24 hours now, as opposed to 48 like before.

The bed again was a queen size, the jacuzzi was still opposite the bed too, just dive in, it has two steps leading up to it. There were two white towelling robes and two pairs of slippers provided, slippers can be taken with you when you go, there was also bubble bath on the jacuzzi ready for you to just indulge!

The maid service used to be morning, afternoon and night. This time it was either in the morning or afternoon and then in the evening again whilst you are out enjoying the entertainment somewhere. She'd come around to draw the curtains and turn down the bed. Every time there was some sort of a towel sculpture, she made elephants, swans, hearts, octopus', mermaids, there was so much she could do with towels, that I can't even remember all of them. If I can find pictures of them, that I know we took, or anything else I will ensure I get them posted on here, so keep an eye out.

Oh I can't forget to tell you about the gorgeous, lovely chocolate cake that was awaiting us on the lovely carved mahogany table as we arrived in our room. A knife and spoons were ready. Candles were ready to light, napkins were out too and obviously two lovely carved mahogany chairs, on opposite sides of the table, ready for us to take a seat, light a candle and gaze at the cake, oh sorry I mean each others eyes and try a piece of luxury chocolate cake.

The windows are now all double glazed, the balconies are cast iron. I bought a travel washing line combined with pegs, which was just right to have fixed from one side of the balcony to the other, for any bits I put out to dry. The balcony has two chairs and a little table, which I would say is the norm anyway.

There is still the big wardrobe full of hangers, an ironing board, iron and a mini clothes stand.

Around the corner is a big mirror in front of you and a long one behind, with lights to switch on wherever you want. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, vanity kit, sewing kit, coffee makers, coffee, milk powder, sugar, hand lotions, body lotions, glasses, cups, straws, soap, little flannels. What else would you like?

And next to this little area is the entry to the toilet / shower. Everything everywhere is of course marble and gorgeous. In the shower you have shampoo and conditioner provided.

Of course if there is anything else you need, you do have the shops to go to and you will find nearly everything there including sun tan lotions, shampoos, creams, hairsprays. I'm telling you, everything. There are shops on both sides of the complex, one side is called Nizuc and the other Sunrise.

There are 12 restaurants with gorgeous food and, as I said, shops where you can buy loads of gifts to take back home. So remember guys don't worry about taking creams, toiletries with you etc. buy it there if needed and leave plenty more space in your suitcases for gifts.

Now if you're just lazing about, there are the lobby areas with the bar area, hot/cold snacks to help yourselves to 24/7 and other drinks from dispensers. I loved the Mochaccino! There is music there at various times of day. A programme of what's going on in the hotel is always available from the front desk every morning.

There is always entertainment to find somewhere in the hotel. There is even a cinema.

I've had a sudden memory blank but I'm sure there are actually 6 pools, definitely not any less anyway, and they are the biggest pools in Cancun. The poolside bars offer many lovely refreshments, don't forget to try a Pina Colada, better than I'd tasted anywhere else!

The hotel is actually away from the hotel zone, which we see as a plus point, not as much hustle and bustle.

Please don't panic about how you get into town, it's not expensive to get a taxi. Just step out from reception, ask the bell boy for a taxi, he will click his fingers or whistle and hey presto there's your taxi. You have to show your wrist bands to security on your way out and back in to the hotel as well as give your room number, which is just for security reasons, nothing to be scared about, just procedure. The taxi is a fixed rate.

Now then, you'll be stunned to know that whilst there, we asked a few staff about their experiences of the hurricane and what the hotel was like. As we could see a lot had changed from the 100% luxury last time to probably 200% this time!

Well, we were told that after the hurricane that Moon Palace employed 10,000 workers to get the place ship shape again.

That was no typo, literally ten thousand workers.

No wonder such a huge place has done so well, so quickly but hey that's the palace resorts for you. It's an American company and they always strive to be the best. Which they surely are.

What else can I tell you?

If you buy any postcards in the shops on the complex or in town, you can buy the stamps in the shops too and post them in the golden letter box next to reception. It does take about 3 weeks to get to the UK though but never mind at least you can make someone jealous about where you'd been.

There are golf buggies driving around the complex, hop on one to save your legs if you like.

Once again, it is a huge complex but then again, it's a holiday, time to relax and it's nice to take a very slow stroll from one side of the complex to the other.

In the middle of every section is some sort of an attraction, ponds, fountains, adult size marble chess board, climbing tower, mini-golf, children's park, benches, bridges over rivers, everything is just sheer beauty.

There is a kid's club, although I wouldn't really say this hotel would have enough entertainment visible for kids, it's really more for couples, as sophistication is very in your face.

Last year we decided to actually take a trip to the other part of the complex, where you get a bus from outside the lobby area and that would be to the Golf & Spa. We met another couple during our stay there and whilst the men went to have a game of golf, we were pampered in the spa. I had a luxury manicure and pedicure, as well as reflexology and my friend had different baths, a pedicure, and massages of many kinds. These things you pay for but oh it's worth it.

Getting to this part is also out of this world.

Like I said, you get a bus from outside the lobby, that takes you to a bus stop, at this sheltered bus stop you will find a bar area with chairs and tables if you fancy a drink along your way. From there you get onto a golf cart, when you are ready, as they drive up to take you up to the golf and spa, heaven or what?

Well I'm sure I've made you all dribble now and you're itching to get a brochure and book.

It really is money well spent! We also went premium this time, as we didn't fancy being squashed like sardines in a tin for 11 hours and that too was worth it, you get the extras of course.

So, what are you waiting for? Go and book up!

We may see you there in 2008.

My Family Just Came Back From A Trip To Cancun Whe

My Family just came back from a trip to Cancun where we stayed at the Moon Palace. Our stay was for 9 nights. Our party consisted of my husbands parents and our two children ages 16 and 13. The cost for this vacation was around $12,000 USD which included the airfare. My husband and I took $1,040 in spending money to pay for scuba, golf, ATV rides and incidentals. We also took $100 in singles to use for tipping at the hotel, of which the bank gave me brand new serial numbered singles. Our Moon Palace room safe was accessed the second day we were there and the $1040 was stolen, the thief or thieves did not steal the serial numbered tipping money or credit cards. We reported the theft to public relations at the Moon Palace whom did not seem surprised, he had the Moon Palace hotel security dept come to our room for a so-called investigation. We cooperated and answered all questions, they looked through all our belongings, interviewed their staff and determined that the theft was impossible. Public relations said it was strongly recommended we go to Cancun to make a police report, we did not want to waste the time as the city is far from the hotel and we knew we would lose this vacation day if we did but we did as he so strongly suggested. It did turn out to be a wasted day, the police never followed it up. The Moon Palace rep said the hotel would not do anything for us regarding the theft, he said they determined it impossible and they insinuated that we were lying. I called my travel agent and told her to call Mexico Unlimited to see if they could do something on our behalf, while I had her on the phone I handed the phone to the manager whom was rude to my travel agent and told her it was not her business, just between the hotel and their client. I asked if he knew what Trip Advisor was? I told him I would report my review to Trip Advisor upon my return, he did not care. My agent and Mexico Unlimited sent faxes and emails to the general manager of the Moon Palace. It took him a day or so to reply to them but he would do nothing for us either. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who needs to feel they and their belongings are safe. Upon arrival, it actually appeared to be the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in, the waiting staff were very attentive, the grounds very well maintained, pools clean, rooms comfortable. Food and drinks good, although four out of six of us were sickened with a stomach ailment before we left. The beach is not good for swimming, it has sea grass and jelly fish in the water. My husband and I were both stung by jellyfish. It was not the missing money which ruined the trip but the attitude of the management which left a bad taste in our mouths every day we were there.

Very interesting... we were just at Moon Palace in Punta Cana and my son's ipod was stolen from the room. They also did their so-called investigation and said that they could not come up with anything that proved their staff as being dishonest which of course suggests that we were lying.
