The Tucson Clarion Hotel Downtown is fine for overnight stays, but for anything longer I would look elsewhere. The staff appear surly and very unhelpful. It took us 45 minutes to check-in - we were the only ones waiting, as the staff were elsewhere. There was no apology at all. Breakfast which is included is a serve yourself affair, on foam plates with plastic knives and forks, foam cups, and the hot buffet, for the five days we were there consisted of shredded fried potatoes and watery scrambled eggs. The pool and surround were pleasant, but the restaurant is closed Sunday to Tuesdays inclusive.

The staff appear that way because they are surely and unhelpful. You are right close the the "border" if you know what I mean.
