Stayed at the Aeneas Hotel for our 25th anniversary. We booked a room with direct pool access. The room was quite basic for a lot of extra cost, but the one redeeming feature was the patio door which opened out onto a small private terrace with steps down into a large pool and private Jacuzzi. Would only go back if I could have the same room again. Food was better than most places in Cyprus (which we have found to be in general) but not quite the best we have experienced. The service was very good also. Overall would recommend the Aeneas, and would certainly go back there - but only to the same type of room. We took three grown up children ages (19-21) and they were very cramped in a standard room, and one was only provided a camp bed - not very five star. Have also been to the Adams Beach across the road - much better rooms a good pool, but their food was poor. Queuing for breakfast reminded me of school dinners there, whereas the Aeneas was much more relaxed and civilised. Entertainment poor at the Aeneas, and Adams Beach - geared up for those who make the short trip into Aiya Napa each night. The Coral Beach (Paphos) is also to be recommended, good rooms, excellent food, but not very good pool - also quite pricey for drinks and coffees. Excellent entertainment from fantastic live band in the cocktail bar each night. Half board is recommended and lunch is fantastic if you decide to go full board.
