We Were With Scottish Pet Insurance For Several Ye

We were with Scottish pet insurance for several years and made many claims. They were very expensive, because of her serious health problems it cost more to insure the dog than it did to insure the house. The biggest problem was that they swapped insurance providers several times over the years so you never knew who you would be dealing with.

I Have Just Had My Pet Insurance Jump From £

I have just had my Pet Insurance jump from £23.50 to £38.50 because my dog is now 9. I had no explanation for this and agree with others who now know that loyalty counts for nothing. I am now in the position where I will have a problem changing as other insurers won't cover pre-existing conditions and my dog has mild arthritis. I feel cheated and VERY let down and will only stay if I find no other way of getting my dog insured elsewhere.

Scottish Pets Pet Insurance Have Always Been Very

Scottish Pets pet insurance have always been very good at settling claims quickly.

They have changed underwriters during the year, which was a surprise, but my premium is actually less than it was before.

Well done Scottish Pets!

I Wasn't Informed That The Underwriter Had Changed

I wasn't informed that the underwriter had changed premium from 23.50 to 50.75 per month, and I had no advanced warning. The explanation from them was "your dog is now 9 years old". No discount for loyalty, or for having 3 pets insured with them. Tesco have offered the same cover for 26.50 as a brand new customer. When I asked Scottish Pet Plan for a quote as a new customer, it was the same as I am paying. I can not believe that loyalty counts for nothing after 9 years, so I will be switching to Tesco pet insurance.

If they had told me prior to his 9th birthday, I could have got the same cover from Direct Line for 17.05 per month.

Check That The Details That You May Have Had Befor

Check that the details that you may have had before are the same. You may find that you are getting less policy cover, but the Scottish Pets Pet Insurance premium has gone up. I think also that Scottish Pets could have written to their customers to thank them for their custom, and to advise that they had sold out.

Had "ultimate" Cover For My Dog - This Was Reduced

Had "ultimate" cover for my dog - this was reduced to the "gold" cover, as ultimate no longer offered, and my premiums were increased. Numerous phone calls later to Scottish Pets pet insurance to sort this out. They do not return your calls.

Scottish Pets Pet Insurance Didn't Inform Customer

Scottish Pets Pet Insurance didn't inform customers that the underwriter had changed from Edinburgh to an English firm. Premiums have increased. Service is down, and if the policy is cancelled after a claim has been made, they say the premiums must continue to be paid until the next renewal date!!

I wouldn't recommend this company now.

We Have Just Received Our Policy Renewal Letter Fr

We have just received our policy renewal letter from Scottish Pets insurance, and the premium for our cat has gone up from £8.83 per month to £28.05 per month! This is more than a 3 fold increase in premiums, without any explanation in the cover letter!

I Have Had Two Pets Insured With Scottish Pets For

I have had two pets insured with Scottish Pets for several years. I have paid approx £80 per year for each up until now. I have just had the renewal notices, and they now want £197 for one and £142 for the other. When I asked why, they told me that it was now "system based", whatever that means. Also, I don't think they are Scottish any more because you used to ring Edinburgh, but now it's Portsmouth!
