Year on year massive hike up of insurance premiums for our 2 dogs - this year's quote is £1,664.82! Have just informed them that our 2 year old dog was neutered a year ago and they have added an extra £6 per month on to the above quote. When I rang to enquire why, as castration supposedly reduces the risk of prostate disease in male dogs and should reduce the premium, the reply was that they get more claims for neutered pets than un-neutered! No further dialogue - like it or lump it! Very let down and confused by their reasoning for penalising owners of neutered pets!

Do not choose them! Made a huge mistake of selecting Argos Pet Insurance to insure my puppy. Unfortunately had to put a small claim in as she fell ill with a gastroenteritis a couple of month later and I got stung with their sneakily, hidden 'voluntary excess', which put another £50 onto my regular excess. This was not clearly stated when I took out the policy online, neither on the online form, nor in the policy documents. In fact, I never received this part of that policy, if I had, I would have chosen a different, more competitive insurance. All I received was my Direct Debit document - they're quick to take your cash, and two generic policy documents, one summary and one detailed one and another with instructions how to ring their call centre if my dog fell ill. Some members of their call centre agents are downright rude and have a tendency to pretend to direct your call to someone more 'senior and knowledgeable', when in fact they just want to cut you off. Thanks for absolutely nothing!

At first contact with the team they were very polite and helpful, putting our mind at rest with helpful information about dealing with our pets injury. and also after the easy filling in of claim form and being in contact with our vet's, to diagnose and treatment to full recovery of our pet's injury. So I really liked how easy it was to deal with this pet insurance company.

This is the 3rd pet I have had insurances through Argos. I have recommended it to many people. I have used Argos since approx 2005. Sadly a couple of my animals insured with Argos are no longer with us. My cat Oliver, is my fur baby, and only the very best is good enough for him, he is a member of the family, not just a pet. Pet insurance has always been vital to me. As my other animals he was insured via Argos. Unfortunately Oliver has developed hypothyroidism at 9yrs old. Argos has been brilliant in dealing with all claims relating to diagnosis, prescriptions, operations and ongoing treatment. They pay the vet direct which is easier, they are quick and helpful to deal with. Keeping you informed every step. I recently learned of their new repeat prescription service, which is going to make it even easier. The monthly premium has steeply gone up, but once you claim that is to be expected. Oliver is on the top tier level, and I would have expected the excess to be per condition, not per condition per year, but that changed with the underwriters a few years ago. A small price to pay for on going treatment. The only other thing that would make it the best available Pet insurance is for dental to be covered (as John Lewis Pet insurance does).

Our young golden retriever cut her paw badly and the operation carried out by our vet was totally covered by our Argos insurance policy. We were delighted that the claim was settled and paid very quickly by Argos. We would certainly do recommend Argos for pet insurance cover.

When my puppy became ill it 22as very useful to have the Argos helpline give advice. Level of cover is great and claim process was simple and quick. Convenient that claim form can be completed and scanned meaning quicker to reach destination. Definitely happy and would recommend.

Our puppy had an eye infection that was persistent and took a while to treat. As the bills at the vets were mounting I was secure in the fact that our platinum Argos pet insurance would refund the money we had spent . The claim was settled quickly, no hassle and directly into our bank account. Thankfully our puppy recovered from the nasty infection and I am so pleased we took out a policy we can trust .

It's always difficult when your pet gets poorly but with argos pet insurance they were very friendly and helpful and always quick to respond which made claiming the easier part of the whole experience, would definitely recommend them to ensure your pet is well covered

We have owned several dogs over the years all with insurance policies....I was nervous about changing but my husband said this policy gave good cover and was competitively priced.We have made two claims now on our one year old dog and each time the claim has been processed smoothly , quickly and the claim paid directly into our bank account ...text updates also...really couldn’t fault !

I was happy to have the opportunity to write this review just to say thank you to Argos and their wonderful team. My dog has diabetes and Cushing disease, he has also had pancreatitis several times and a snapped cruciate ligament. On every occasion of a claim to Argos and every point of contact with the team there, they have always been helpful friendly and caring. The claims have always gone through without a hitch and they have paid my vets direct so I haven’t had to lay the money out beforehand, which has been a great help. Thanks Argos, I can’t recommend you highly enough.

After a near fatal accident it was a great relief that with the superb care our vets gave to our beloved dog he recovered well. What was just as superb was the simple clear way we were able to process our insurance claim. We were able to telephone initially and were spoken to by a very caring member of staff who went through our options and sent us out a claim form. The member of staff explained the whole process, the form was clear and given to our vets to make a direct claim. This was very smooth and we got text updates on the claim. Our vets were very happy with how quickly the claim was settled and we were delighted too by the whole process. Thank you - it gave us complete peace of mind when looking after our dog.

My cat recently needed treatment for a deep bite to one of its back legs. My vet was able to claim the cost of treatment minus the excess directly from Argos Pet Insurance. The process could not have been made simpler. Argos provided a follow up letter for my files. I will continue to ensure with Argos as I have found them competitively priced and when I have needed to contact them by telephone they have been courteous and helpful.

Overall I am very satisfied with the way Argos provide there pet insurance we always get a full settlement and a first class service our pet means everything to us and I trust Argos pet insurance as they deliver a quality service.

I have to say that the Argos pet insurance team were great from start to finish. From my inital phone call warning them of a possible claim they were on the ball, Advise was given on how i needed to proceed should a claim be necessary. I was having phone calls daily after the claim forms were submitted keeping me updated with where they were in the system. Once the claim was approved the cheque was issued to our vets practice within 2 days. Highly recommended.

KodiBear cut her paw very badly on the beach and I rushed her straight to my veterinary practice. She had her would cleaned and dressed and was told to rest for the next few days. After two weeks she had healed well and was able to go for walks on soft ground. Her dressing was changed every two days during this period. My vets submitted a claim to Argos Pet Insurance (I had only taken out insurance with Argos at the end of March) and that claim was settled within 10 days. That was excellent. I would recommend this pet insurance.
