Samsung DVD-C631P

Great player. Has Easy view, one button to press to eliminate the black bars on wide screen. I like it. But it's cost here on this unit that gets the thumbs up. Cheapest Progressive scan, and hey, as a bonus there's 5 disc carousel. You can exchange DVDs/Cds while it's playing so that's good, and it's nice when you have that extra bonus disc.

I don't worry about a lighted remote, I think that's being too picky. This DVD has great picture quality, and optical outs, component out,S-video, and rca. I really love it!

If you want a bare bones multidisc progressive scan DVD player, then this Samsung DVD-C631P is a great choice. You can buy this for less than other single disc progressive scan DVD players. DVDs play great. However, I think some features are lacking, and the system and remote are rather slow and clunky. I had hoped to use this as my CD player so that I could play hours of music in a row. However, when it finishes one disc, it moves to the next one and then just stops. You have to press play again!

One of my music CDs kept skipping on this DVD player, but it didn't skip on my cheap boombox. Fortunately, I tried a number of other CDs, which played successfully.
