Buy This Dvd Player, It's A Great Deal, Don't Be P

Buy this DVD player, it's a great deal, don't be pressured in by cheap brands. Plus it has a 2-year warranty.

Basically It Does What It Said On The Box. It Play

Basically it does what it said on the box. It plays just about everything that I've put in it and it's meant that I have at last watched some discs that some friends have let me borrow which have been in MPEG 4.

I would recommend this unit to my friends.

This Review Is Based On The New Shinco Sdp-1720 C

This review is based on the new Shinco SDP-1720 c model which is one of the best players available on the market. It has features galore and has a lovely brushed aluminum finish. Looks more like a branded more expensive unit, great value for money! It has a whole host of inputs, outputs and features all other players lack.

I Have Had The Shico Sdp-1720 Portable Dvd Player

I have had the Shico SDP-1720 portable DVD player for about a week now. I had no problem at all to start with (although showing photos on it is pretty slow if they are taken at a large size on a digital camera - they are definitely quicker to show at a smaller size). I attach Intempo portable speakers to it and the sound is excellent, and through my own earphones too. I put in a DVD yesterday that I hadn't tried in it, and the lip sync was out. The exercise DVD I'd been watching, mainly over the last week has been fine. I tried a pre-recorded film in it today, and I have the same problem. If anyone knows a solution to this intermittent problem I'd be grateful. I'm not so bothered that I'd send it back, but I will probably find it a bit irritating.

My Dvd Player Model Is The Shinco Sdp-1720a. The

My DVD player model is the Shinco SDP-1720A. The "A" is important; it denotes the latest model. I simply was not expecting such high quality at this price. This model has a metal lid, and it just adds to a well designed product.

Don't have high expectations for CD playback, as it can't do everything!

Shinco supply some very famous names on the high street with their players; they are then re-branded Hitachi, Sharp, and LG etc...

Do not look anywhere else for a player in this price range.

I Have Had A Shinco Sdp-1720 For Just Over One Yea

I have had a Shinco SDP-1720 for just over one year now. When I first bought it I queried the level of noise generated by the DVD mechanism with the supplier and was assured it was normal. The player has packed up just the wrong side of the warranty period. A faulty mechanism that has finally worn out, a design flaw or bad luck, I will never know.

Saying that it was a good machine while it worked, picture and sound quality was good and it happily played most things I put in it including home video in various formats.

Most annoying feature was the inability to turn the sound down with the remote control, although you can Mute the sound.

I am looking to buy a new portable DVD player and will not be buying Shinco again.

A Good Player Let Down By Poor Build Quality And T

A good player let down by poor build quality and that sound sync problem. I had the 1720-A model (which is the metal case version), and looked after it but the hinge still went.

New version has a secure catch instead of a magnetic one, and various other improvements (2 headphone sockets, now plays DiVX format) but I wouldn't risk a Shinco again unless I knew they've fixed that sync problem and improved the strength of the hinge mechanism.

Reckon I'll end up paying more to get a rival 'name' brand with less functionality but better quality.

Bought My Shinco Sdp-1720 After Many Months Of Rea

Bought my Shinco SDP-1720 after many months of reading, wasn't sure what I was getting a lot of people say its alluminium and a lot say plastic I don't care as long as it does the job and it does I've compared it to some standalone players and it's just as good if not better in some departments at the moment not had a problem with discs (and I've tried a few different sorts)I'm happy with it.

Shinco well done.

Sirius Is Wrong Here I Think, The Model He Refers

Sirius is wrong here I think, the model he refers to is the older one. If the 1720 is not the best such buy on the market for the price then I'd like to know what is. I paid £167 from scan on todays special offer, but it's around £200 most places and worth every penny. The only slight niggle is no volume control on the remote but as you usually are sitting within arms reach this is not much of a problem, might even get another one.

Peter.
