“Tasty and Delicious Milk”

★★★★★

written by JessicaThom on 31/05/2021

Oatly is a brand that offers its customers delicious, high-quality milk. I always choose oatly because of its amazing flavor. It is so tasty and mouthwatering that anyone may become addicted to it after drinking oatly milk. If you use oatly milk in your sweet recipes, they will taste even better. It's my favorite method for making smoothies.

I have just discovered this oatly as i was suffering with upset stomaches daily on cows milk. I was a bit wary at first as to putting it in my tea but its ok and taste lovely my luxury is to have it on porridge in a morning.

“I decided to give up dairy milk after realising that...”

★★★★★

written by on 20/06/2012

I decided to give up dairy milk after realising that humans are the only species to drink another animal's milk beyond infancy and reading about the potential health problems associated with drinking milk. Also, I hadn't realised that it's not natural for cows to keep producing milk after their calf stops needing it. Therefore I decided it's morally/ethically wrong to drink it. I've tried soya milk before which never tasted great, and I also read that that has its own disadvantages. So first I tried rice milk, but that separated when heated and made me feel a bit sick! So then I found oat milk online and the idea of oats seemed to me like a much nicer taste, and one that I'm more used to. The main brand seemed to be Oatly, so I decided to try that, expecting it to be the best quality oat milk out there. It's also widely available-you can buy it from Waitrose, Tesco, Holland and Barrett and many other places so it wouldn't be a pain to introduce to your regular shopping list. When we first bought it I was reluctant to open it because I had such high hopes of it... And I'm pleased to say, it lived up to, in fact, beyond my expectations! It's lovely. It tastes delicious but what I found great was that it tastes to me very much like cow's milk, which is what I've grown up with and is therefore 'normal' to my taste buds! Let me add here that my whole family who drink cows milk loved oatly too and had no criticisms of it! Also, the first time I tried it was in hot chocolate and being heated up in the pan, it didn't separate or anything, just acted exactly the same as cow's milk always did. To describe oat milk to you all, it looks like pancake mixture that's been completely mixed and is ready to be put in the frying pan! My final point is that as it says on the carton, it gives you the same amount of calcium as cow's milk, so you're still getting the nutrients you need to replace when you give up cow's milk. It also contains vitamin D, which helps your body absorb the calcium. So, as you will tell from this review, I definitely reommend this to absolutely everyone. This review is totally honest- I was thrilled once I'd tasted oatly and found myself my perfect milk:)

“What a find!!”

★★★★★

written by on 03/01/2012

I love this product - I am lactose intolerant and can't get on with soya milk so was a bit dubious about trying Oatly, but what a great surprise. I am having cereal for the first time in years and have found hot chocolate again. I haven't tried it in tea or coffee as after nearly 30 years drinking it black I can't bring myself to try. I am really pleased with the shelf life - I have tried rice and hemp milk and they need using within 3 or 4 days and I just can't get through it that quickly - the extra day with the Oatly milk means hardly any gets wasted. I wonder if they will have a go at ice cream next? Wow! That would be amazing!

“After using Oatly for a week or two, cow's milk tastes...”

★★★★★

written by on 21/02/2011

After using Oatly for a week or two, cow's milk tastes dirty to me. Oatly is delicious on its own or on cereal and makes a more interesting white sauce or cheesy sauce than dairy milk. The chocolate flavoured drink is great. Good news is that since 2011 the added vitamins in the fortified Oatly are derived from vegetables. Oatly cream alternative is great for cooking and desserts, though I don't expect it would whip like dairy cream. The only drawback of Oatly milk is that in tea it is just not the same as fresh fat-free dairy milk.

We get through loads of Oatley and love it - I have 2 dairy and soya intolerant kids. However, why is the organic one so much more available than the red one? The organic one is "organic" BUT has no calcium in it or the vitamins that the enriched one has. Wish the latter was available more widely! As this milk isn't sweet Ilike Rice milk) or strongly flavoured (like soya) milk, it's fantastic for both sweet and savoury cooking too!

Much nicer than soya milk, excellent for making porridge. Organic too, which is a bonus. I don't use milk in drinks so can't vouch for its use in beverages. But for my morning cereals it's fine. Supposed to help lower cholesterol as well.

I use Oatly Organic Milk to make my porridge--it`s lovely--but as others have said always give the carton a good shake. An excellent replacement for cow`s milk. Can keep the cartons in your larder for ages--then refridgerate once opened.

Absolutely delicious. Good on cereals and also in cooking. I also love the cream. It lasts longer in the fridge than cows milk too which is a bonus. I open it first then replace cap before shaking well and it is fine. Love it! I would recommend this to everyone.

Oatly Organic Milk is the best alternative to cows milk that I have used it is not to watery like some, and it is not to thick, I use it in my tea and it makes my tea taste like tea, and not leave an after taste in the mouth.

Paul Lansley's Response to oatly's Review

My local Sainsbury's has discontinued selling Oatly. May I please see a list of retailers in the Colchester area who do continue to sell it?
