I stayed at The Ritz Carlton Bali about 5 years ago. Its accomodation was quite new and very beautiful. If you pay extra US60 dollars, you can use its club room, and can have free breakfast and afternoon tea, beer, soft drinks there(there are 5 times food presentation in a day), and use of golf course (18 holes) / tennis court is also free. From the hotel lobby and swimming pool area, you can command the fine ocean view. The private lunch at the private beach was nice, but you have to take the hotel car to get there(about 5 minutes), which I thought was a little unconvenient. And I thought there were many Japanese couples staying at this hotel. Probably because it was the Japan's high season (from the end of April to the middle of May). Although I wanted to escape from Japan, I had to hear many Japanese's talking at this hotel.
The hotel opened one of the biggest Thalasso & Spa in the world in 2002, (When I stayed here, there was no Spa) and you can visit and use it no matter you are staying at this hotel or not. Jimbaran Bay is relatively quieter to other resort area in Bali, for example, Kuta, Legian, and you can see the beautiful sunset from the Bay. The Ritz Carlton Bali is surely a luxury hotel, but I personally prefer to stay at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, which has 147 beautiful villas, and I can feel that I am completely free from my own country and enjoy privacy.
