I used to have this game when I was younger, and I used it long after I'd passed through year 1. It is creatively made, so that children of a variety of ages can use it easily and effectively. And not only is it addictive, it is a simple way of getting children to learn. There are many activities inside a 'classroom' such as putting the correct amount of money into the vending machine, and serving the right fraction of food in the canteen. I loved serving the food, sadly my mum broke the cD when she tried to fix the computer so at sixteen I can now no longer play it. haha. However I think it is definitely worth the money, and I'd recommend it to anyone with young children.

The sneaky way to get some learning in. My son loves it, and sadly so do I. A bargain - and learning is creative and addictive. Well recommend Jump Ahead Year 1.

Jump Ahead Year 1 Reading & Maths game is based around a classroom with a dog to show you round. I liked that there were activities to explore within the classroom but also you could go through a mouse hole to the musical mice or out to the canteen to serve lunches or even outside to the playground. When you complete an activity you can see it on a record card but there are other rewards built in. I would say this was definitely worth a purchase. I am a childminder so I have several children of various ages who enjoy this game. You can tell that it is aimed more at year one but I have a pre-school child who enjoys the paint part of the programme and navigates around the classroom well. Another child I look after (Reception class) loves serving the lunches. These are all done in fractions, so a child might ask for half a plate of pasta.
