Souljacker Is A Theme Album About..well, Freaks.
Souljacker is a theme album about..well, freaks. Witches, dog faced boys...it's refreshing to see the Eels branching out of their own pain and going a bit surreal. The music is an inspired collage of instruments and above all, it's really really fun. True, some of the tales are still downbeat, but then someone taps a coconut and it all seems OK again. Superb.
