Nice looking watch but disappointing. The band has failed twice resulting in the watch falling to the ground. I can no longer rely on it for any water activities. Secondly, it has never kept good time in spite of being overhauled. Very overrated I think, just a show watch. Owned 11 years. I've passed on any more of their timepieces....

I have owned this watch for several years and wear it about 1/3 of the time. When I first got it, the watch kept excellent time. The rotor was so finely balanced that I could sometimes feel it spinning like crazy when I walked down a step and the rotor was on the down swing. Less than a year after I bought it, one of the hands would not reset on the chronograph. I sent it in and they repaired it under warranty. The rotor never felt the same after and I should have made a big deal about it right away. It got to the point where it felt like it was clanking in there and wearing the watch normally was not enough to keep it wound. I basically wore it as a mechanical watch for a while (wound it each day). I decided to take it in to Omega (Aventura, FL) to have it checked out. Here is a copy of the estimate: Reference Description Quantity Sugg. Retail Acceptation O898CS3122 COMPLETE MAINT. SVC. MECH. CHRONOGRAPH 1 685.00 O72211511142RB BRIDGE FOR AUTOM. Total 7 1433.00 Items marked with * are optional, all remaining items are required The service alone is $685 and the mechanical bridge (required) cost $148. I refused the rest of the junk which would have brought the cost to $1433. I imagined a diving watch to be built like a tank and to run reliably. Maybe I am totally confused and should only wear it to cocktail parties to show it off. I do not baby the watch, nor do I feel I should have to. If this is how much it costs to maintain and this is how reliable it is going to be, this might be my last Omega. I appreciate the intricacies of fine mechanical movements, but I find it hard to justify their high prices and poor time keeping abilities compared to quartz watches. I am not talking about cheapy plastic watches, though I'm sure most of them keep better time than most automatic watches. Am I just crazy???

I was very disappointed with my Seamaster because when I bought it, I noticed it had a tiny particle on the sapphire glass on the dial. I took it back and it took them a week to fix it. Now I don't know where they sent it. Also I'm concerned with the accuracy, I was expecting something close to perfect. I've only had it for about a month.
