Bought these for my daughter they are good straightners does what is say only complaint I have is I bought these in may 2012 off eBay with a warranty of 12 months. We have been using them all fine but the black cover-in over the wires has slipped down so the wires at exposed so it is unsafe to use it should not happen so dangerous when wanting them replaced I get no reply so have left this as a warning for other.

These straighteners are the best I have ever used & I have tried quite a few different types.
Can't believe how cheap they are compared to a lot of the other brands.
They glide through my hair & leave it looking & feeling silky & soft. I placed my order over the phone and received them the next day, all this with no delivery charge!

They arrived quickly and on first inspection they appeared great, they felt like a quality product - not flimsy or light - in fact they really were just like my GHD's which had broken on the Wednesday morning after 5 years of perfect service (hence trying these out!). However, the differences soon become glaringly obvious. First off, the instruction manual said that there was a red light and a green light, the red light would be on at all times when the product was switched on, and the green light would light up to indicate that the irons were ready to use. This was not the case, instead there is a single red light which flashes increasingly as the product heats up so I think as the instructions were incorrect it was difficult to tell what should be/was happening!! Once they appeared hot I started to straighten. The plates were set in their housing as tight as in my GHD's so my hair would kept getting caught and pulled in what is admittedly a tiny gap between the plate and its housing, but nevertheless my hair was catching in it - not the smooth gliding action I'd expected, or been lead to believe this product would provide. Lastly, but for me, most importantly, was the heat that the outer body of the irons reached during use. It hasn't cooled as I'm writing this and it's about 2 hours since I used them the side of my face when they briefly touched my skin as I was running them through my fringe (bangs). The casing seemed so hot that I couldn't leave them on my unit to cool as I would have done with my GHD's. They appeared so hot that I was worried it would melt my unit! I had to leave them on a dinner plate to make sure nothing would melt, or even worse catch fire actually burnt (just a minor burn, no blisters or anything, the area is red and still from the heat!

So, to sum it up, these things may be cheap but in my experience they are not a very effective product. I know they are 3x time cheaper than the leading brands, but I do feel that the leading brands are not just leading because they have huge marketing budgets, they are actually a more superior product which works well and are reliable.

Hopefully their 14 day no quibble money back guarantee will be just that! I will post again and let you all know how I get on with their Customer Services team!

really easy to use and very reliable and so much cheaper than GHD

I purchased a pair of GHS straighteners for my daughter for Christmas 2006 , within 3 months they blew up (possible fire hazard) as I purchased on credit card they happily replaced/repaired them. This happen twice more within the year warranty then again just 1yr and 3weeks after the original pair were purchased so that is that , as even though the pair we have are only 4months old they will not replace them!! Do not buy these straighteners at best a waste of money at worse could burn your house down!!!!

Bought these after trying a friends GHD's which weren't that fab on my hair. I was told by a hairdresser that GHS was set up by someone who worked for GHD and they were basically the same but half the price.(may or may not be true). I found they worked really well on my hair which is fine but a lot of it with quite a kink. Unfortunately last weekend they exploded!!! They were 2 years old (to the day) Luckily i had just taken them out of my hair and they were about a foot from my head but they made an almighty bang and a flash and the lead completely came off at the end of the straighteners. To be fair this could have happened to any pair of straighteners but i have never heard of it happening before?!
As previously mentioned customer service not really bothered. I was told i could have them repaired at a cost but to be honest i'd rather buy new straighteners and not have something repaired.
Gone for Kodo's this time which are brilliant.

I think that they provide absolutely terrible customer service, mine were broken after 3 weeks use and GHS would not give me a refund!!

Don't buy GHS Ceramic Hair Straighteners because I found that as soon as they had my money they didn't want to know.

The straighteners are, in my opinion, useless and I would personally recommend that everybody stay away from GHS !!

Avoid at all costs, mine broke after 5 uses. Company offer no Customer Service, refuse to replace.
They are quite rude when you challenge them & are not prepared to help in any way.
If you have to buy this item, make sure you use a credit card so you can chargeback when the item breaks.

Quite simply the best straighteners I have ever bought . So cheap and so good I hardly ever use my old GHDs as these are much better and easier to use

Compared to GHD they are a lot cheaper and they do just as good a job on my hair recommend

I bought my first pair of straighteners which lasted 6 months and then the coating started pealing and I sent them back. These were replaced with a new pair which broke down after 3 months. I again sent these back and a replacement pair were sent. They lasted 2 months and stopped working. The fourth pair were sent to me with the assurance that should they break down I was to return them. Yes, you guessed it, they have just stopped working. I phoned them and they said to return them, which I did and a week later they returned them to me, unrepaired and not replaced, with a note to say out of warranty. I have spent just about as much on postage sending them back and on average they lasted 4 months. In my opinion this is not a reliable product and I would not recommend it to anyone. I thought I must just have been unlucky but after seeing the other reviews I think not. Very poor.

The GHS Ceramic Hair Straighteners are very easy to use, and excellent value for money. I have previously owned a pair of the more expensive ones, but these are much better value for money. I placed my order over the phone, and I have to say, their customer service was also excellent. I will definitely be recommending this company to my friends.
