Chessington is a great park, with good potential. As it stands today, it's a well themed park but however lacks a big amount of rides.
I would mostly reccomend it to families, although it does have some thrillseeking rides such as ramesis revenge and Vampire.
A bad point is that the height restriction for Dragon falls has been put higher than before, it is now 1m, 20cm although the map still advertises it asd 0.9metres.
I would not reccomend going to the park in the holidays though, because due to not enough rides, it gets very long queues on the rides they are.
So overall, a great park that is a fun day out, but avoid busy days.

I Went during the summer holidays and on a Saturday, and reading all these bad reviews i was not hopeful. But When we got there the car park was a bit difficult to manage but we did get it and as we came as soon as it opened we had no time to wait at the entrance. The view as you came into the park was beautiful as you could see the scary-looking Dragon's Fury right in front of you. We decided to get on all the good rides first. First we went on Vampire which only had a 10 MINUTE queue! And as we got on all the rides we were very happy. The end. No it is a brilliant park for the whole family and would recommend it, tho Cobra does have a long queue. The other queues are not very long for a little park and it has some wonderful animals!

Myself and my husband took out 1 year old to Chessington as we booked a package through Lego Land for overnight accomodation, a day at Lego Land and a day at Chessington. It was £165 for the three of us staying at the Crowne Plaza Marlow which was a really nice hotel so good value for money (only let down by a disappointing Lego Land)
It rained on the day but it was mainly overcast so it didn't hinder the day too much but if it does rain the Safari Skyway and Dragons fury stop running until the track dries, not sure which others are effected by this, they're just the only 2 we noticed.
We obviously only went on the smaller rides and found we only queued for a maximum of 15 minutes which was on Tiny Truckers, probably helped by the fact that it was raining so there weren't as many people there. I was quite impressed as to how many rides I could take my son on (not as good as Thomas Land at Drayton Manor but loads better than Lego Land)
In Lorikeet Lagoon, you can pay and extra £1 to get some liquid food to feed the birds. We successfully did this but don't forget you are dealing with wild animals that may not want to eat at that precise moment and therefore you may be disappointed.
We took a picnic to keep the cost down but was a little annoyed that you are allowed to smoke anywhere in the park apart from indoors and in queues so a lot of people were smoking around the bench areas where other people were eating. In fact we even had a strong smell of something that didn't resemble cigarette smoke if you know what I mean.
The zoo was quite nice, not too small enclosures but not safari style either apart from the new Wantama Village and Reserve which had a good size grazing area.
Parking was free.
Overall we spent 6 hours there and my one year old enjoyed his day.

Chessington World of Adventures is a very good theme park for young children who want to start going on scarier rides. I have been going since i was about 5, im 14 now and i'm planning another trip this April. I think this theme park has something for everyone, all ages! The gate price can be a bit expensive but its worth the money! The only thing i would like to see more of is roller coasters. There is only Vampire, Dragons Fury and Rattlesnake, they are all awesome but i love roller coasters so that's just me! This park is a must!

We are a family of 4: 2 adults and 2 under 3s. The 2 for 1 voucher we had meant that we did get value for money. We also took advantage of Chessingtons brilliant idea allowing one adult to queue with the toddler for the ride. Then when the ride is over the 2nd adult waiting with the buggy can enter using the exit (jumping the queues) and go on the ride. The toddler was thrilled as it meant he got to go on the ride twice.
We went with friends, although the toddlers are above the 0.9m restriction they hated the Galleon ride, they were petrified. Even if they are tall enough for the ride they might not enjoy it.
Our 2 year-old was bitten by a wasp in Burger King. There were loads of wasps everywhere, take insect repellant!
There weren't very many bubbles on the Bubbleworks; it would be better named the plastic duck ride as there were many more of those.
The queues were bearable approx 35 mins, we visited the first Sunday after the school holidays.
No charge for parking - unlike Alton Towers.
Wish we'd stayed over night as we didn't get to go on half the number of rides, nor see the Sea Life centre. You really need 2 days to do everything.

Me, my sister and my friend went to Chessington World of Adventures with my parents. We got there at about 11:30 due to traffic and we wern't in the park untill 12:00! That wasn't even the longest queue! The queue for Dragons Fury was way worse but it was well worth the wait! After that we decided to use express passes which were really, really good and we got on Vampire in less than 20mins! Sadly, the express passes do not include every ride in the park but still, it does include the most popular ones, therefore, the ones with the longest queues!
There are rides there for all ages from young children to adults and there every ride we went on was absolutely brillient!
The park has great scenery and very well themed lands with rides that fit in with those themes!
I highly recommend Chessington World of Adventures for familys and it is a great day out!

I found Chessington a very enjoyable family attraction, they catered for all ages and my family loved it even my nan who is 60. There was some litter and the ride had long queues but I think that is because I am a very clean and impatient person. I would definitely go back again for the same experience.

My boys aged 6 and 8 enjoyed Chessington more than Legoland. Facilities were really clean and a much better choice of food at better prices here than Legoland. The Sealion show was great and there was an animal antics show which was great. All togher a lovely day and would recommend this for all ages.

Chessington World of Adventures has good rides and lovely staff but the only problem is it gets very very very crowded.

Enjoyed the day as it was suited to younger children, not many big rides. Bought tickets on line to save a bit of money and arrived as the park was opening. The souvenir shops were disappointing, with a lot of tacky goods.

I love Chessington, Ok the rides may not be huge and scary, with the exception of Rameses Revenge, but their still very cool rides. The park is well set out and pleasant to look at. The addition of the zoo is also a nice change from other theme parks and adds an additional interest. My favourite rides are the Vampire, the Log Flume and the Rattlesnake, though I also love the Bubbleworks and Dodgems too. We usually make sure we go out of season, and at this time the queues are usually very short, in fact the last time we went in June, we were able to walk straight on to the log flume and most of the other rides only had a 5 min wait. I'd recommend it too all families for a great day out.

I got to Chessington World of Adventures at 11AM I paid £90 for 6 tickets. I used buy 1 get 1 free!
Most staff where very helpful.
The queueing time are very good normally 5-20 minutes.
There are around 30 rides in the park for all ages some slow rides for children and rollercoasters for the older.
I went on 13 rides in 5 hours.
It was a great day out.

Before I went to Chessington I was told that a lot of their decent rides had been transferred to Thorpe Park and consequently it was now a lot more child -orientated. Consequently I went thinking I wasn't going to be that impressed; on the contrary I found that it was an excellent day out with entertainment for people of all ages.
Don't forget that the park is also a zoo so do take time to have a good look around their creature features too! For a potted way of doing this take a ride in the monorail that circles the park.

Chessington World of Adventures is a lovely theme park. It is good value for money, and if you avoid weekends and school holidays (we took our kids on an "in-service day") there are no queues whatsoever.
One of the rides broke down when we were about to use it, but other than that there are no bad points at all.
The whole park has a lovely atmosphere; almost quaint. As long as you do not expect it to be in the same league as Legoland or Alton Towers, you will not be disappointed. Having said that, there are a large number of rides to suit all ages, and the zoo part of the park is also fantastic. We particularly enjoyed the entertainment laid on by the residents of the gorilla enclosure!

Chessington is a great theme park for all ages, and one of the best for younger children. It has rides of all speeds and sizes. Vampire is a must, not too fast or scary, yet entertaining. The queues can get very long - be warned! But all in all, a fantastic day out.

This was my first visit to Chessington World of Adventures and I was very excited. I had recently been to Thorpe Park and was very impressed so I was expecting a lot from this park. Driving towards Chessington I could see the towering rollercoaster called 'Vampire'. This made me even more anxious to enter the World of Adventures. When I walked through the gates I saw lots of beautiful scenery and OTTERS! I later found out Chessington was a zoo as well which explained the otters. But I still had the image of vampire in my head to I forced my dad to take me to it. The park is quite small meaning it was easy to get from
A to B. There were signs at the entrance showing us the way to their main attraction. It was 10.30am and already the queue was 20 minutes but what do you expect, after all it is the main ride. It was a well themed ride which made me even more excited. Once it was my turn to ride it was slightly worried but also extremely happy. Vampire had a mixture of stomach churning drops, leg dangling swinging and great themeing. This was definetly a great start to the day! in fact my dad and I were so impressed with the vampire ride we queud up for it again. There were many amazing rides at chessington which I was more than happy to ride such as Rattlesnake, the dragon's fury (also a main attraction), dragon falls, ramesis revenge and many more! It was thanks to the helpful staff, great food, family friendly atmosphere and amazing rides that my day at Chessington World of Adventures was very enjoyable and definitely somewhere I would like to go again!
