After yesterday purchasing rechargable batteries and charger. I unpacked the product and placed 4 of the AA batteries on charge ..9hours later still no lights to say it had been charged or any light telling me it needed charging. I took the product with yesterdays recipt back to Maplin Llandudno where I spoke to the store manager. He tested all 8 batteries 7 showed charge 1 did not . DONT BUY FROM MAPLIN IF YOU WISH TO KEEP YOUR ARMS AND LEGS HANDS AND FACE IN ONE PIECE Absolutely appalling company... so I buy a phantom 4 pro drone new and take home. I recently purchased a CCTV system from Maplin which clearly stated that it contained everything you need to get it up and running. I started to install the system, downloaded the app and started viewing the ouput but then found out that the only way to configure the system is through a compatible TV. This was not mentioned anywhere on their site. Maplin customer service was absolutely useless providing a series of what appeared to be automated responses. Purchased an E Tape from Maplin. After replacing original batteries on 2 seperate occasions with maplin batteries the E tape stopped working for only one day and part of the next day. I use the E Tape in connection with my work so is used throughout the day. I spoke to the manufactures who stated that the batteries should last longer than a day and a bite and it is probably faulty. I worked for Maplin for several years and can tell you first hand that the company is falling apart from the inside out. I will be shocked if Maplin remain in business in their current form in the next five years. Maplin's business model consists of buying extremely cheap electronics, gadgets and garbage from China. As a former manager in the company I would agree, the products generally are of poor quality and way over priced the company calls this "distress pricing policy". The staff generally like to help but remember folks that they are only minimum wage employees but are expected to know information way above there pay grade which if they knew they wouldn't be working 16 hours a week for peanuts and as for the work load piled on managers let's just say I'm a lot happier and have no stress since changing companies

What a terrible shop. Went in on Saturday morning "Brislington Bristol store" to purchase two bulbs, only to be asked if I needed help by two members of staff. I was escorted around the store by an Asian guy who did not take his eyes of me. And another man standing at every aisle I went up, to the extreme that customers were watching them watching me. One of the worst company to work for by a long shot. Pay peanuts, no training, hire young staff because its cheap, and drive out staff who they don't like. Very rare if you find someone who actually knows what a resistor even is. Complete bully and patronising management, Regional managers force experienced staff out just because they don't like them.
