“Gullivers Milton Keynes Weekend caravanning & attractions”

★★★★☆

written by Jwill1 on 19/07/2014

We were nearly put off by reviews on here but decided to go anyway. This isn't a great place for older children but.... We were staying at the next door campsite so asked for a pass for a family of four, as the littlest is slightly under sized we didn't have to pay for him so we got a great discount of £60 for two days entry to Gullivers Land, Dino land / farm and splash. Ok, some bits need a lick of paint, mainly dino land but the rest was great. Our 2 & 4 year olds loved it as the rides are like big rides but not massively scary. The staff were all very friendly. Food was what you would expect from fast food and not too pricey either. The street as you enter the park and the castle looks great. We had a great family day out. The camping and caravanning site next door is very clean and well kitted out for family's, the staff, again, we're very friendly.

Visited Gulliver's on 15th May 2011. Weather quite grey and overcast with spots of rain.

We were recommended to Gullivers because it catered for younger children. Looking at it from my daughters perspective she had a great day and really pushed herself to try new things. There was plenty to do to fill the day and the staff I found were good, helpful and encouraging in the most part. Some of the features were a bit dated but I think that added to the experience. Certainly, my daughter didn't notice and actually found it interesting enough to try twice. She found the whole experience magical.

Like the fact that nearly all rides are geared for parents to accompany the children. All in all, my daughter had a great day and therefore, so did we.

Although we had been put off by the bad reviews, on our second visit to Milton Keynes we decided we should give Gullivers a go. I'm so glad we did it was a great day out, the kids loved the rides, the food was good and reasonably priced and I didnt notice if the place was dirty or not because we were having too much fun. Please do not be put off by the bad reviews.

I found this review helpful because...

<br/>We took on board the positive aspects of this review after reading some very negative ones and agreed with it entirely. Great day out for us and our 4 year old son, we all had loads of fun and felt the day was good value especially with the mothers day offer. Many thanks.

“ I read all the reviews and was put off going to...”

I read all the reviews and was put off going to Gullivers Milton Keynes for about a year because of all the negative ones. I then spoke to a couple of mums who said it was really nice for the younger children. And as long as my DD enjoyed it, I would be more than happy. In the end, I thought I would go and see it for MYSELF. I picked the first weekend in October when the weather was predicted as a mini heatwave and I would not have the bustle of the school holidays. It was a pleasant day but far from a heatwave. Anyway...onto the park. Me and my 3yr old daughter arrived early so we did not have a long queue to get in. We were greeted by large walking characters (I think it was Diego or Bob the Builder) which I thought was great entertainment whilst we were buying tickets. Once inside, we were at a horse carousel. Excellent as my daughter loves horses. The old chap who ran the ride was perfect for the job, great with the kids and the adults too, lively etc. The park was not packed which was ideal. Only negative points were the young chap on the ferris wheel who kept muttering the 'bleep' word under his breathe everytime parents asked to come off, and it was only because he would not let the ride complete a full circle and you got fed up of all the stop/starts and the loos. Some of them really needed a good clean throughout the day but there were enough loos all over the park that you were able to get clean ones too. Gullivers Milton Keynes is NOT falling down and it is NOT littered with rubbish. If you saw rubbish on the day, you were just unfortunate to be amongst people who do not know how to use the bins. The rides that I would assume people said were outdated I truly believe were made to look that way. I can't comment on the food as we brought our own picnic and only had ice lollies. The rest of the staff bar the guy on the ferris wheel were outstanding. My advice would be, go there yourself and form your own conclusion. We were there all day. My daughter loved it and did not want to leave. I thought it was great value for money, considering some parks where you pay more and your child is too small to get on half the rides. It is a park for younger children, try letting them be the judge. I was happy with my day out.

Despite reading some frankly shocking comments on here, I decided to give Gullivers Land a try. Our party included 4 adults and 4 children (aged 2.5, 4, 4, and 7 - the youngest of which is under the 90cm height restriction and therefore enjoys free entry). Everyone had a fantastic day - the park is not about to fall down, there are so many rides that we didn't even manage to try them all! This is the only slightly negative point, and the reason for my rating not being 5 stars, the rides are not run as efficiently as they could be, meaning that you may queue for a couple of minutes more than necessary.
Give it a try - we will certainly be going back again.

“Just got back from fantastic day at Gullivers Land...”

Just got back from fantastic day at Gullivers Land Milton Keynes (sat 4th july 2009) Arrived at 10:30am only had to wait 2 mins to pay to get in, For a Saturday the park was not busy and the weather was very nice and sunny. We had 2 adults one 2 1/2 year old and one baby. I had to pay 2x £12.50 for adults and 1x12.50 for the child baby was free.
If your child is under 90cm don't bother going to this park as they will not be able to go on most rides - If your child is 6 years or over also don't bother as the rides are aimed and children 2 1/2 > 6 year olds.
My son had a great day he went on log flume for the first time and lost of other rides. The staff were helpful and as it was quiet we were allowed to stay on rides for 2 / 3 goes at a time.

Drinks are expensive £1.80 for large Pepsi is a rip off so take your own drinks. Food is average the usual what you might expect IE burgers / hot dogs / ice cream etc..

I will be going back to this park as my son had an excellent day and I got some great photos that I will always remember.

This is why I had kids for so we could have excellent days out like today.

Good range of rides for children up to about 10. Safe environment. Bad points, toilets and food sales. I would recommend this attraction but beats me why they can't keep the toilets clean and stocked

We had an absolutely wonderful day at Gulliver's its really pretty when you first walk in which gives a lovely start to the day. The toilets were nice and clean which is always my big thing when I am taking my little man out. He is only 3 and small for his age but there were only 2 rides he could not go on so he was totally in his element, which makes the day out so much more enjoyable for both of you. The queues were no longer than 10 minutes for any ride and there was not too many people in the park and as we went in peak season was very surprising. The only downfall was that some of the rides are slightly shabby and in need of updating and also I would take a packed lunch as the food hall didn't have much on offer and what was was not very nice at all, but as my little man was completely oblivious to these points I think the overall day was a complete success and brilliant fun!

“I went to Gullivers park in the summer holidays.(2007) ”

★★★★☆

written by Dalek445 on 26/08/2007

I went to Gullivers park in the summer holidays.(2007)
It was the weekend and it didn't take long to get in the park itself. The first thing me and my family did is we went on this train. The people that drive it were a bit grumpy and it does take a couple of minutes until you get on. The train went round the whole park and each carriage could hold four people so my whole family fitted in. We were still a bit squished because the carriage is only about 1m wide! It was quite annoying because the hedges had over grown and my arms kept brushing against the branches. The park usually closes at 5pm so its a good idea to get there quite early because all of the good rides had queues when I went (Including the log flume!!!)
There were lots of rides but half of them had queues. It was a hot day and the queue was really long for the log flume so we didn't get chance to go on. There was a jungle river and the queue took something like 45 minutes and the ride took 2 minutes. Not really worth it.
There were two rollercoasters. The Runaway train (which went very fast so one lap took about 20 seconds) and The Python (I didn't go on that one because we didn't have time) was bigger and probably faster. The flying carpet was fairly good. Many of the rides didn't last long though. The riders were shorter than the queing time! The Silver mine was a bit boring, because all you did was shoot a load of red lights. Boring!

Gullivers Land is a firm favorite of ours. We came across this place by accident and have recommended to all our friends with young'uns. The park is designed for 1-6 year olds, with enough rides to tire the kids out for the journey home. You pay by height - over 90cm you pay, under you don't, which can make this park a cheap option compared to the other places Taking a picnic is not a problem, so I cannot say about the food Overall we've been there 4 times and enjoyed every visit
