The Best Car I Have Ever Owned, I Should Change It

The best car I have ever owned, I should change it, but it is costing me very little to run, so why. never let me down, a g reg 1989, 18 years old, spend very little on it, only a new clutch, body work like new, had a bit of welding done underneath the last 2 years to get it through the MOT, but thats all. All ways keep it in the garage at night.

I Bought My Nissan Micra Used With Only One Previo

I bought my Nissan Micra used with only one previous owner and 24k on the clock. I love it. It's never once let me down - even on horrible cold, rainy mornings. I originally wanted a Primera, but as I've only been driving a year, I wanted to get used to a smaller car first - plus the insurance is more reasonable.

I find it incredibly comfortable, and it drives really smooth. It's my second car and if anything happened to it, I'd definitely get another one.

Hi you said if anything ever goes wrong you said you would get another Micra just advising if you do go for another Micra DONT go for a new shape. I have a old shape Micra & my mam has the newer shape & she has had nothing but problems with it since came out of NISSANS showroom.

Brilliant First Car Its Faster Than My Dads Ford M

Brilliant first car its faster than my dads Ford Mondeo. It is ten times better build quality than my dad's car. I definitely will not buy a Ford.

The fuel economy is good. It's good for getting around Portsmouth streets with the million speed bumps.

The Nissan Micra LS is a good car.

I Have Majorly Tuned My Nissan Micra 1.0 Ls. I Hav

I have majorly tuned my Nissan Micra 1.0 LS. I have a K & N induction kit which boosts the horses by a good 20 bhp. I recently cruised on the M25 and got a nice 155 out of it. Well, I have had a 7 speed gear box fitted off an old Mustang. It is fully nitrous kitted out, boosting the horses a further 160bhp, and did I tell you about the quad ball bearing turbo from a 200SX? This car flies.

Why would you want to do 155?

Do you really want to lose your licence??

psychocorsa657

I have quite a few friends with 1.0 micras, and they are quite nippy for the size engine, but a K'n'N induction kit, wont boost your bhp up by 20bhp more like 4 or 5bhp, a 7speed gear box, ha another joke, and a turbo from a 200sx? i tink your living in a dream world, look at this for a micra http://www.banzaimagazine.com/images/latest-issue/aug-07/micra.jpg, was once a 1.0 micra, now kikin out over 400bhp, with a 2.0 engine from an almera gti! thats how to tune a micra!

This Nissan Micra 1.0 Ls Is My First Car, It Cost

This Nissan Micra 1.0 LS is my first car, it cost me $3,500 from a real estate buisiness which is a great deal for such a car.

I ran it stock for a while, just putting small interior mods on here and there.

I got a pod filter from a mate of mine and my dad helped me fit it (he's a plumber, the piping is great).

The pod really gave it more acceleration and a deeper sound from the air intake.

A lot of people ask if it was an exaust system.

The pod is good because you cant get a canery (defected) for it.

If you have read the reveiw in this site that says there is no room for good speakers, he's wrong, I have a sony head unit, 2x pioneer 6x9's,

2x clarion 6" (with tweeters), a kenwood 12" with a sony amp. and it pumps.

My car is great and I can win most races (excuding V6, V8 and turbo powered cars).

The micra is a great car for both performance and looks.

Ive got a micra myself, and yeh....it has deceptively quick acceleration, i don't know about 0-60 in 15 secs, i think its probably a lot quicker than that mate, but i don't reckon you could cut it with much more than the standard corsa fiesta etc, ive recently bought a standard astra, same engine size as the micra and its much faster, and i don't know how you manage to see good looks in it, i was almost sick every time i walked up to mine, you've got to spend a good few grand on one to make it look semi-respectable, and therefore a complete idiot!

samm

Is this a wind up? Come on mate, you'r car must take about 15 seconds to hit 60! I'm not dissing you'r car but don't make out like it's a performance car when it ain't!

I Acquired This Nissan Micra 1.0 Ls Car In January

I acquired this Nissan Micra 1.0 LS car in January, and I have to say, I didn't choose it, my parents did, and I was a little put-off when i saw it.

It came with a cassette player and weak speakers, which I replaced with a CD and better speakers. This was tough, as the door trim is very weak, and is like cardboard around the speakers.

I only experience problems with this car when going up hills and fully loaded. It does struggle a bit in terms of acceleration but this can usually be overcome by a quick gear change.

The boot in my model has no base, there is just a plastic trim sheet covering the spare wheel. This makes loading a bit tricky, expecially with fragile items. The parcel shelf strings have snapped, and one of the hinges has broken too.

All in all, this is a nice little car, and it is very reliable, though it does splutter on winter mornings, it always starts.

i have a nissan micra lx 1993 which by the sounds of it is very similar to yours.... i have had speakers fitted in the rear very easily and they sound great. my boot is big enough for a subwoofer AND a little bit more luggage (although now i can't really get to my spare wheel but the base of my boot is the same as yours and my subwoofer is fine (and it has glass front). she is a very nippy little car i have no trouble with the acceleration and the strings and hinges to my boot/parcel shelf are tough rubber and are not easily broken.... i haven't had one bit of trouble with this car and she is an easy 13 years old and is more reliable than my mum's car which is only 3. no trouble in winter whatsoever and really cheap on petrol. so maybe it just depends on how the car is treated in its lifetime.... unlucky mate.

This Was My First Car In 1998, My G-reg Nissan Mic

This was my first car in 1998, My G-reg Nissan Micra 1.0 LS

At the end of its life it had done 140,000 mls. (Superb for 1 litre engines and it had more in it too)

Before that time however, the car was excellent the inside was very roomy for a small car (Corsa's are even smaller!) Unfortunately the trim was a bit rough, cockpit rattle and centre console shaking at speed, the steering wheel was thin so I fitted a leather cover to increase the wheels thickness to suit my bigger hands.

On the outside the arch likes to rust so nip this in the bud before it eats your car (Aluminium mesh and filler for bigger holes!) the door handles and hatch operated with ease due to greasing and care. There didnt seem like the was a door welt or weather strip cushioning the door as it would make a 'Metal on Metal' contact. Suspension was okay it would bounce once or twice on tight corners but the wheel never left the ground (This quality of dampening is ok) so cornering if fine just remember that its tires are 145 or 155's so be careful about how fast you go around corners!

Performance wise its not a road burner 50 bhp with a 0-60 of 13 - 14 seconds so high speed driving such as motorways and dual carridgeways are a struggle getting up to speed, overtaking takes military planning so be careful here. Winter morning starting is very good, automatic choke on carburettor is potent for cold days hence adding to excellent reliablity.

Value for money is very good, definately low cost motoring with 50+mpg and cheap insurance group 3 in my day, cheap pattern parts if required, routine maintenance a doddle (oil changes, plugs, ignition cables, ect.)

Practicality is very good too, the micra as a commuter is great, shadowed now by newer rivals and by the new micra, but for a cheap run around as mine was it was great never broke down, many examples now unloved so check them out first.

Overall Very Good car

You are not getting 50 mpg in a micra. I drive one a 1999 model the engine is too small for the car only 1.0 litre and im getting about 32 miles per gallon unless you drive for a long distance it might go up then but you will not get 50 mpg from a micra.

I Have Just Bought A Nissan Micra 1ltr And I Tell

i have just bought a nissan micra 1ltr and i tell you what i am pleased with the performance but will not do 110mph standard. i clocked mine at 105 mph and that was enough for me, will do a bit more. all i have done is fitted a peaco eexhust and back box, and a k&n air filter, and some slight tuning adjustments. OK that includes a set of splitfire spark plugs.
