“Invalid Apple gift cards”

★★☆☆☆

written by BrentonButcher82 on 08/04/2024

I purchased 2x £50 gift cards from your inside Dunstable store (Bedfordshire) upon opening one then the card inside stated £100 on it, upon trying to use the code it was deemed invalid by the system, I returned to Asda & spoke to the assistant manager who refused any responsibility towards selling the cards claiming it had nothing to do with Asda (well it has actually as Asda has taken £100 in total), he to,d me to contact Apple, I phoned them & I was told that both the £50 cards had in their terms been tampered with & that Asda should contact their supplier of the cards & confront them with the findings, tApple have my complaint logged in their system, Asda owes me £100 so I want to known how you plan to refund me & dont give me the excuse of oh they are third party products & we dont refund rubbish, if you sold a punnet of tomatoes which had one rotten one in it then you would replace it wouldnt you (they are a third product product >from farm*> to packager>to Asda so in reality its no different is it? Apple told me that the cards do not originate as a complete package so at that point is when they must of been tampered with!

Please resolve this matter ASAP otherwise I will have no option but to approach police. 3 other Apple gift cards purchased from the same store earlier in the year upon trying to use them they came up as 'inactivated' so that was another sale, money which you owe me.
If you give me a legitimate email address I can return photo copies of these said cards by return.

“Pizza was tasteless”

★★☆☆☆

written by Fazinator on 19/06/2022

We bought a pizza in-store for £4.20. it was the "Very Veggie Supreme Large Stonebaked Pizza". It tasted of absolutely nothing. Looked much nicer than it tasted. There weren't even cooking instructions. Next time I'll buy a pizza from a competitor store.

“Whatever has happened to the pizza takeaway? In the...”

★★☆☆☆

written by DereonDonaldson on 04/03/2022

Whatever has happened to the pizza takeaway? In the past I have always enjoyed these pizzas with a nice variety of topping choices. Sadly, last week I bought a large stone baked pizza and when looking at the topping choices was very surprised to see they were mainly reformed meats. Why? Why reformed chicken? Why reformed ham? The store sells fresh chicken and fresh ham, I cannot understand why offer reformed meats. For me, I will not be purchasing any more pizzas with these poor choices of toppings. They simply ruin the taste of the pizza. Come on Asda, rethink this and get back to the options we had in the past when a pizza was enjoyable. Regards One very disappointed customer

“Corona asda shopping experience instore Dunfermline...”

★★☆☆☆

written by fvReid77 on 30/03/2020

Arrived at Asda store Dunfermline and people were in the queue 2 metres apart . There was an Asda employee at the front of the queue telling shoppers to enter the store or wait, you got your trolley while you were in the queue waiting to enter the store. You got the trolley someone else left who was coughing into there hand and then touching the trolley handle before it was left for the next customer, the handle was not cleaned by asda before the next customer touched it. Once inside the floor was marked with Black Gaffa tape in the shape of arrows to show you the direction of travel. whould have been hivis tape. once inside the store it was not staffed correctly with some people walking round looking at there phones walking against the arrows. Tesco seem to have a better system in force for a less chance of catching Corona Virus than Asda. Asda needs a better system for not infecting people with Cororna . Clean shopping trolleys before the next customer gets it. Police the Isles so people are told when they are not sticking to the rules and removed from the shop. Take every ones temperature when they enter the shop. Protect your till assistants more, screens, masks, gloves etc. Why is shopping getting more expensive

“Need to get their act together”

★★☆☆☆

written by paulinecrockett on 16/01/2019

I Have only used on line delivery a few times, thought I would start to use as I'm getting older no car and having to drag groceries on the bus I thought what the hell. As I have cats and have to get a cab when I buy their food and litter would save on time and money. I ordered first time veg all I could say was OMG the picker must have got the worst of the bunch of everything. Also watch out when you ask for bags you have to pay 40p then when delivery comes no bags so where are all those 40p going. All that money adds up and Asda pockets it. I did phone up about that spoke to someone on delivery team we run out of bags, will put £5 on your account I said that's not why I phoned up just the fact its 40p you took its the principle. I work had for the little money I get and I have to watch the pennys like many people do. Thing was I said to delivery driver I ask for bags, I quote he said half the time they don't bother if you complain they don't care. I first phoned through to customer service's the lady I spoke too said they had been told to used bags when asked. So ASDA if you don't refund the 40p HOW much money do you make in a year from this, Cos this is what it boils down too, I also paid for a year a delivery thinking this would be a good way to go for me and would save me money. Then a delivery driver I had before Christmas moaned because I ordered cat litter its heavy, when I told him I was 2 bags short , he said I didn't scan them I don't half the time I will go back and look in van, ASDA what people do you employ that are not even doing there jobs right. I have been disappointed with the service, Order from Iceland no problems at all. Asda you really need to sit down and look to see what these things happen and what could be done to fix everyone's problems on here.PS I never got a voucher YET.....

“misleading product presentation”

★★☆☆☆

written by jennie61 on 08/01/2018

Dumped ASDA online shopping a while ago for several various reasons. Just seen the ASDA TV ad showing nice fresh looking decent cuts of salmon fillets mmmmm strange all I got in my ASDA online shop was stinky tail end pieces of salmon with very little actual edible fish on it. Also ordered 2packs of 2 lamb leg chops which on the picture looked like decent lean meat but when I took them out of their packaging underneath there was nothing but a load of fat bone and other inedible rubbish consequently out of the 4chops ordered I ended up with 2 chops and a few bits of edible meat

No problem with goods or prices. Couple of problems with deliveries and missing items, but nothing really serious. Big problem when I critically review technology items and the reviews 'disappear.' Just won't have it. You're tired. Not as though the competition isn't keen.

“faulty via salty”

★★☆☆☆

written by Lorelai489 on 04/07/2017

I tried to eat smart price readysalted roasted cashews and I could not eat more than five nuts , without reaching for a glass of water. They are that aalty , this makes them as a product faulty. The salt content needs to be address as it is at high level of the daily allowance for one person. High blood pressure caused by these nuts , and I was so looking forward to having them as my weekend treat, as I try to stick to a healthy diet and nuts in moderation, is ok for omega three. sorry asda your trying to kill folk with these nuts, even sea creatures would think oh my god these are salty.

“poor product even poorer customer servicce”

written by Myreviewasda on 09/05/2017

I took delivery of my food shopping on 28.04.17 to find that I had been delivered Pork chops dated 28.04.17 and the packet was blown. A pack of 6 sausage rolls dated 28.04.17 and pork pies dated 28.04.17. Not what you expect for a weekly family shop! I called the store to complain but the relevant Manager was not available. I spoke with a very polite and engaging lady who informed me she would pass the message to the relevant Manager and ensure I received a call back. She did clarify that it might not be the same day as they had a store visit taking place. I called late the following day as I had not heard anything and left another message with a very polite and helpful lady again. I left it a couple of days but nothing. I tried to call back 3 days later but I was unable to get through. 5 days later I had still heard nothing. I called again and finally got through to the relevant Manager, who knew nothing about my complaint and was totally uninterested and completely disengaged. When I explained about the pork, sausage rolls and pork pies and that I believed your policy is to deliver products with at least 2 days shelf life. He responded - "if we had better dates on the shelf we would have delivered them to you." Not the response I expected, I asked for the Head office number and the store Managers name, which he willingly gave me. All to get me off the phone. I called to complain about the lack of response I received to my complaint and the appalling way I had been dealt with. I spoke with a lady from the customer service desk on the floor, to her credit, she knew exactly what to do and say and was engaged in the conversation. she said she would get the store manager to call me. True to her word the Store Manager called me, again, very interested in my complaint and very engaged throughout the conversation. He apologised and confirmed it was not acceptable and that he would address the matter internally. He provided the kind of service I would have expected all along, due to the poor product choice and the Managers poor attitude, I will no longer do on line shopping with you. I will visit the store or on line shop with another supermarket. Very disappointed customer.

“Incorrect quantity weighed products - Poor contact...”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 08/09/2016

For the 3rd week running the store have failed to deliver the correct quantity on weighed meat products. 1st time I thought it was my error, (however it turned out not to be) 2nd time again ordered a quantity of 2 and only got 1, called the contact centre (and experience in itself) and eventually spoke to the delivery manager who said they would ensure that pickers understood to check correctly, he offered me a £5 e voucher (which was nice), so today my order has been delivered and after the fun and games of speaking to customer services eventually got through to the store to explain, again the problems of receiving short order. I have been told that they will call me back but the reality is my shopping is short again and I will have to go out and get what is missing (defeating the object of home delivery) The delivery and drivers are all very polite and helpful but the picking is poor. very disappointing and to be honest a lot of the substitutions are poor alternatives. I signed up for an annual half price any time delivery pass and have been using it for about 3 months so am seriously thinking of sacking off Asda and trying a competitor as Asda dont seem to be able to get the basics right. I think I have given more than enough opportunity for them to resolve the weight and quantity issues, afterall if it is happening to me it is happening to others too!

“ASDA NEEDS TO GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER ”

written by rebecca54321 on 31/08/2016

I'M A DISABLED PERSON, SO HOME SHOPPING IS ESSENTIAL FOR ME. ASDA DO SUBSTITUTE A LOT AND MY BIGGEST BUG BEAR IS THAT EVEN THOUGH YOU CAN BUY PRODUCTS IN STORE, THEY ONLY GIVE YOU A FEW CHOICES ON LINE. ITEMS THAT I HAVE BEEN ORDERING FOR THE PAST YEAR WILL BE TAKEN OFF LINE, JUST FOR NO REASON. ONE OF THE ITEMS IS TV CHOICE, THAT I BUY EVERY WEEK, BUT ASDA DECIDED TO TAKE IT OFF THE WEBSITE AND THIS IS JUST ONE OF A LIST OF ITEMS THAT I BUY. IF YOU WANT TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ABOUT IT, YOU HAVE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE IN SOUTH AFRICA AND THAT COMES WITH COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS. PLEASE SORT YOURSELVES OUT ASDA, I WON'T BE SHOPPING WITH THEM ANYMORE.

No Technical help if fault on online account, very nice people in the Philippines but they know diddly squat about technical issues, I can see why Asda profits are down, it's very frustrating a big company like Asda but the technical and customer support side let's it down - now shopping at Tesco and Sainsbury

“bad at dealing with refunds”

★★☆☆☆

written by beOrtiz144 on 22/08/2016

Ive previously had no problems when it came to dealing with refunds up untill now.... I ordered an xbox live voucher with my online grocery shop when it arrived it had not been activated in store but I thought not to worry Asda is usually good in dealing with refunds but to my surprise it still has not been dealt with and i have tried every form of contact(customer care line is pointless, everybody is foreign)including online refund requests, emails, phone calls. Asda needs to sort out there efficiency in dealing with online customer care. Its put me off shopping online again

“My disabled mother shops online because it's much...”

★★☆☆☆

written by Silvaiu312 on 31/10/2015

My disabled mother shops online because it's much easier than going to the store. Oh wait sorry, no it would actually be much easier for my disabled mother to go to asda to do her own shopping because the website is so shocking and cannot even do the simplest grocery shop, cannot be paid for easily and is just all round a dissapointent, not for the first time either. I've dat and watched her try to buy her shopping and it even makes me angry. Even speaking to someone on the phone has got her no where. Considering the amount of money she spends on her shop, there is no excuse for it to be so difficult. It can't be that difficult....surely.

“Click & collect get home find items missing ”

★★☆☆☆

written by on 06/06/2015

First time doing clic & collect won't be doing that again! My order was placed online at 11.45pm on the Friday night so I assumed it would be packed for me early on the Saturday, (even though my pick up slot was from 6pm-8pm) because an early packing must mean ensuring your order has no missing items. I arrived at just after 6pm and the groceries were packed into the car and then the asda guy proceeded to tell me that there were unavailable items & it was manic in store, I'm assuming this meant my groceries were not picked when the shelves were fully stocked! When I arrived home I then discovered that there were 7 items missing from the items that should have been in the basket. So I proceeded to phone the customer services centre and got through to someone in South Africa! Bearing in mind I'm living in Northern Ireland! She couldn't tell me when or if the items which were missing that I had been charged for could be delivered. So I ended that call and tried for half an hour to get through to someone in the Antrim store. Finally got to speak to the manager who is now going to phone me tomorrow check if the items are in stock and see if it's possible to deliver them tomorrow. Very disappointed in the service all round and after years of shopping in asda ill be moving my business elsewhere, in this current climate business need to be super efficient or their competitors end up benefiting!

Just when I start to love a range of goods, Asda stops selling it! Do you know how I can request to Asda to start re-selling the stuff I love? For example it has stopped selling Sunbites original crisps and only sells the flavoured versions which are not nearly as nice! I want to ask them to go back to selling this!! Advice please!

I'm afraid this IS a typical supermarket practice. It's down to their statistics and if they show poor figures, then the line is "pulled." I know it very often doen't make sense, particularly when they appear to sell out, week in, week out. Do I think they sometimes get it wrong ? The answer is, "Absolutely !" But you have to realise, this IS a numbers game and what to you think it really matters to Asda if they get the stats on an odd line, wrong ?

I wouldn't use ASDA again even if I had to grow my I own! I used to have deliveries from them - the first time they overcharged me I had to make many phone calls for 6 weeks before they refunded me. The last time they overcharged me £16 and I have never received it despite numerous phone calls and promises over many weeks I eventually gave up.

No I've tried every supermarket online and all bad for packing morrisons really bad just tried wwaitrose first time excellent hoping second delivery will be good also. It really annoys me when they pack raw meat in with fresh food . It's not rocket science they don't store raw meat in with the dairy and fresh food so why is it ok to pack it that way.

As far as I know you can only show the picker your preference for substitutions. You can set the substitutions as yes or no in your account and you can also alter it for individual items when you are checking out. You can leave instructions for the delivery driver, such as please use back door etc. But it doesn't seem that there is any way to leave specific instructions for the picker.
