The Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn is a magical adventure that everyone would want to try and watch through the family’s point of view. It Premiered in united state on November 19th, 1982, and had 648 in theater, made $2,250,000. The Last Unicorn is one of the most popular movies within the children’s heart, I have been known to watch them many times, in fact, every time I go to family video I always see it in the 2 for one movies, and it is from 1982 I am surprised that they didn’t put it in favorites because that is where it should be.

The Last unicorn is about a magician who is traveling, and finds himself with a gypsy group, then he see a unicorn. With the gypsy group being so far from a kingdom, a Kingdome with a king full of lonely thanks to a wizard, and the king asked the wizard to help him capture unicorns. Thanks to the Gypsy Magician who found a unicorn and freed it, the unicorn then ran, but almost got captured, but the magician transformed the unicorn in a human woman so that the red flaming bull would not capture the unicorn and put her in the cell within the sea.

The king then rustles up the last people who saw the last unicorn on sight, and then doesn’t realize that the women is a unicorn, even though she has a star tattoo on her forehead where her horn was.

However after a while wile the king assists the magician to be his magic supporter instead of the wizard. Because the King wants power and happiness, instead of just power; his son the prince notices her, and tries to kill all the beasts within the forest to prove them as a token of his love.

But because the woman is practically a beast herself, she doesn’t approve of them. The prince starts to wonder why? Because every princess would want to find tokens of love like this because the princess wants to feel protected, especially from dragons.

Thanks to this overview of the non-token acceptance, the king is now taking a look on the transformed unicorn, whom is known as the magician’s daughter, which is why the magician is taking place as the kings daughter, to protect the unicorn, why probably because he has a kind heart, or because he felt like he dissevers to protect the last unicorn. Or maybe he knows something about the king that most people don’t? Who knows, maybe he even knew the wizard before, and just wanted to prove to the wizard that a magician is the same.

Now, this would be more of a spoiler then a review, and it would defiantly spoil the movie if I told you everything now wouldn’t it? I am not surprised that they used a unicorn as the creature, because everyone especially women love unicorns. In fact it is a nice choice, with all the publications that they have now for Vampires on Twilight. Well, Unicorns is a nice break.

Even now, I see people taking it off the shelf, thanks to the title the Last Unicorn, it is nice short and people get curious. Why? Because, Curiosity kills the cat. I have seen Curiosity kill people’s emotions especially when it comes to horrors. But thankfully the Last Unicorn isn’t horror, mainly a children name, rated G. Meant to watch with the whole family so that you and your family can enjoy.

There is magic, sad, joy, drama, adventure, something that everyone loves, and who would have thought something with all that within a children’s movie? I mean you can enjoy it without it being a soap opera. Thank heavens for that.

The Last Unicorn is incredibly beautiful, I loved it as a child and as an adult. The plot, character development, and themes are phenomenal. Age, the animation and such are outdated. But it doesn't detract from the movie!
