I thought the film was better than the book becasue there are some scenes that the film has that the book doesn't like the part where Mr. Sir shoots the yellow-spotted lizards to show hoe dangerous they are because later on in the film this wouldn't make sense but i really liked how they put that part in.
Overall i thought it was really good to watch and read and would recommend it to any person it is aimed at any age range…

The setting was good and the language used by actors was excellent. My favourite actor is Shia Labeouf because he actually looks like he is Stanely instead of someone trying to be Stanely. They never knew when a sand storm would come so during acting there might be a massive sand storm that ruins the scene. It was also the best childrens book i've ever read!… Read Full Review

'Holes' is the must-see movie of the month. Stanley Yelnats, the main character is accused of stealing shoes and is now forced to dig holes at Camp Greenlake. Camp Greenlake may sound like a nice place, but Camp Greenlake is a dried-up barren wasteland which is in actual fact a penitentiary. Stanley must face a lot of challenges, which include digging holes, loss of personal freedom, friendship challenges and ordeals, and even yellow-spotted poisonous lizards! Every day (including the weekend)… Read Full Review

HOLES is a very good film. It's got a great cast (Mr. Sir, The Warden and Madame Zeroni are my favourite roles) and a solid screenplay. However, it does lack something and that is that it does not have the mysterious atmosphere (the trailer was a lot darker than the film) that the book has. Instead, it puts a damp cloth over such scenes to make sure they don't interfere with the easy-going flow of the movie. Overall an OK film but something that did not live up to my expectations.
