Having first seen The Second World War In Colour on television I decided to buy the DVD. There was something different about watching these events in colour, it may sound silly but I feel it helps to bring home how 'real' the war was. This series starts with the rise of Nazism and ends with the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima with the late John Shaw providing commentary that complements the footage without detracting from it. I will keep this DVD to show to my children when they are a little older as I believe that we should not forget what happened, especially as it was only 60 years ago.
