This Is One Of The Sillier Bond Movies. Roger Moor
This is one of the sillier Bond movies. Roger Moore in his 6th appearance as the famous 007, needs to stop a nuclear bomb from going off on a U.S. airbase in West Germany (still during the Cold War). The point of this bomb would be that the bomb would look like carelessness on the American side, which would make all of Western Europe have the Americans withdraw, leaving Western Europe virtually defenceless against an invasion by the Soviet Union. That is the plan of the Soviet Union. The movie takes him from England to India and to west Germany, where he finally figures out the whole scheme, and must disarm the bomb, which he does.
007 once again saves the world (or at least Western Europe) from horrific disaster in Octopussy.
Octopussy Is Certainly Not One Of The Better Movie
Octopussy is certainly not one of the better movies of Roger Moore's tenor as Bond. Although the movie is watchable, the plot is dis-jointed. The palace in India makes for a great location and is habited by plenty of attractive women - but other than that this movie just barely makes the grade. If you are a Bond fan, the movie is worth a rental.
