Fuji Finepix 1300

I have been happy with the camera, I use it on windows xp and I dont even have to download the software-xp finds it for me.I The quality of the pictures taken are good too and I have found it easy to use.

This Fuji Finepix 1300 is one of the best digital cameras in it's price range with similar features. It's colour, contrast, and lack of colour aberrations make it a great outdoor camera. For example, it's replacement, the A101, had aberrations in the corners of the image, as do many pricier cameras. Although subjects within it's short flash output range are sharp and well exposed, backgrounds (in large halls etc) have a "tunnel" effect as they are so dark. Subjects need to be in front of a light coloured surface to prevent this effect. The LCD is almost useless in bright sunlight, no matter what it's variable brightness is set to. Macro, with and without flash is wonderful. No objectionable barrel distortions; flash works fine to minimum distance. Although not mentioned in the manual, you can take Macro pictures beyond the official range. I have sewn white threads across my handstrap, marking it into 1/3s. The middle third is the normal macro range. If you set the macro slider to it's midpoint, you can take pictures from the maximum recommended macro distance up to about 2 feet. On bright overcast days, you should preset the Auto Exposure with no sky in the finder, then recompose. Otherwise most of these shots will be underexposed and cannot be fixed properly in PhotoDeluxe without adding extra noise and losing colour saturation. As it has an f/4.5 lens, shutter speed will slow considerably in shady areas or at dawn and dusk, as the ASA/ISO is only 125. This leads to many blurred pictures when the light seems decently bright (but isn't). Carry a mini clamp-tripod combo. they are compact and inexpensive and can save many of these shots. There is very little difference in quality between Fine, Normal, and Basic compression ratios. I use Fine when I'm at home and the others dependent on how long a trip I am on (and how many shots I think I'll take).

Highly recommended as a first, or backup digital camera if viewing on a monitor or 5x7 inch prints are all you need. The FinePix Viewer Slideshow sizes each picture to fit the full display where possible.

The Fuji Finepix 1300 is a surprisingly good digital camera - I've had it for several months now and long ago recovered its cost in film and developing. At least as good as typical APS compact, without worry of cost. Highly recommended for anyone other than the serious photographer.

Digital zoom is pointless.

I LOVE THIS FUJI FINEPIX 1300 DIGITAL CAMERA!! It is light and good looking (and you can't say this for the majority of digital cameras!!) It has all the basic features you need in a camera (timer, flash options in different lighting situations, print ordering, easy download to computer, adaptor that will allow smart media to be used in 3.5" floppy directly). The 8MG card that comes with it is adequate plus you can buy a 64MG memory card for about $25 and that will allow you to take up to 700 pictures which look good in standard 3x5" format. It comes with Adobe Photo editing software that is easy to use to cut/rotate and artistically alter your prints to make them even better! I would recommend this camera as THE camera of choice for someone interested in trying digital photography for the first time w/o having to break the bank to do it.

The Fuji Finepix 1300 looks like a well specified digital camera for the price. Can anyone assist in software problems for win98, as software supplied with camera obviously will not work and I really would like to download some images. If you have been there I would appreciate enlightenment.

The Fuji Finepix 1300 digital camera and all its software and components were very easy to use. It gives amazingly high quality images considering the relatively low cost. I am not a very "camera literate" person, but I cannot see how anyone would find this camera anything but great. I have taken it with me everywhere!

If you aint got much money but want a dig cam then I would give this Fuji Finepix 1300 a high rating

My brother has had a few cameras better and worst than this and for the price the finepix 1300 is the one to go for

but buy rechargable batteries (its a must) also get a case because you dont get one with the camera

It comes with a 8mb card which is good but if you're going on holiday/vacation then get a 64mb

If you take basic pics which are ok then you can get 361 pics on that card

The Fuji Finepix 1300 digital camera is deceptively easy to run despite the contrary view created by the unnecessarily complicated instructions. Compared to my film camera it will still be number 2 but as a fun thing, it's great.
