No Refund Pregnant Woman Stranded At Airport For 16 Hours.
Being 6 months pregnant i got a letter from the Dr to confirm that all was ok to go on holiday to Seychelles. At Or Thabo the flight attendant to the letter from Dr which confirms that all is ok for me to fly. After 4 days at the hotel i started feeling sick, we change our flight days 2 1 day departing earlier. All good. At check in point at Seychelles Airport the attendant booked us in when trying to board for the flight our luggage was taken off the aircraft and given back to us.The attendant told me to get a letter stating that i can fly after fighting for 3 hours with the uneducated staff of air Seychelles (with no Dr or paramedic at the airport) i went to the local Dr in town to get a letter only to get back to the airport and find that the flight has all ready departed. And that we have lost all the air fair money cause we the not check in on time. It then cost us R16 000 to buy new tickets to go back to Jhb. Finally we got tickets but only via Kenya i was sick from all the worry and flying at that time. We sat another 6 hours at the Kenya Airport awaiting your flight. This at 6 months pregnant. After sending in my refund request i have been promised my refund for over 9 months now. Due to all the stress the i gave birth to a stillborn baby boy. With no appologie from AiR Seychells.
Schedule Change With No Notice & No Response. Do Not Use!
We booked 2 flights direct with Air Seychelles for our honeymoon trip from Johannesburg to Mahe (cost R13881). 6 hours before our flight departed, we were horrified to discover (by email) it had been rescheduled for 2 days later. The email notification was only sent 33 hours prior to the scheduled departure time. We had plans in the Seychelles and no accommodation/food/transport in Johannesburg. Furthermore we had booked a catamaran trip to start the following morning at a cost of R38500. We would have missed the departure.
We were desperate to get a flight. There was no-one from Air Seychelles to speak to (by telephone or in person at the airport). At considerable cost to ourselves, and after a stressful period on standby, we managed to get on a 17 hour flight with Emirates via Dubai. We lost a day of the boat trip. We emailed Air Seychelles prior to leaving JNB requesting a full refund.
Since returning home, we have continued to send numerous emails. We have had no acknowledgement and no refund. We will never book with them again.

Never On Time, No Customer Or Aftersales Service At All
Never deal with this airline. Bad, old, insecure and unreliable aircrafts. Interior is really old and inconvenient, food is bad, and price-value ratio is unacceptable. Stuff just does not care about any request you made. My holiday has been totally ruined because of enormous flight delays both ways due to technical faults. On the way back, we were just landed on Milan instead of London and thrown out from the aircraft, loosing our connection from London, getting no food or service, and so on. I have really expensive travel insurance, but Air Seychelles' stuff even refused to provide me any documentation about the delay which I requested. Without this documents I cannot get any insurance. After sales and customer care departments just ignore all requests and would not like to help to recover from their mistakes. If you are going to fly to Seychelles, try Condor or Qatar airlines instead. Also, never rely that this airline will fly on time or help you if you loose connection.

This Company Is A Disgrace
Simply the WORST Company ever I experienced to fly with. Our return flight from Mahè to Hethrow was scheduled on Sat the 25th of June at 22.30 and I was returning home with my husband from our honeymoon. As soon as we boarded this falling apart middle-80’ Boeing, the Captain said that there was a technical problem and that their engineers were working to fix it.
He kept giving us up-dates for the next THREE HOURS, during which the air conditioning not always worked. In the end, at about 1.30 am, we had to get off the plane. We have not been offered any hotel, not even a cheap one, and had to sleep on benches in the airport. The last news was that they will have used a plane which was arriving from South Africa at 7 am.
At around 7 they said we were going to leave at 10am. They offered us breakfasts vouchers only at around 8, after being locked up in the departure area for nearly 8 hours. At 10am they said that the plane was delayed of another hour since they were waiting for the food supplier to load the plane. The captain with the crew arrived at 11ish. They kept delaying the plane until we finally boarded at around 12.30. On board, the captain said that they had detected another technical problem with this plane as well, concerning the fuel pomp, and that the engineers were coming to fix the problem. The panic started to spread on the plane as the frustration level was getting higher and higher. A family, who was travelling in Business class, decided to get off the plane. After another hour we finally took off but the atmosphere was awful. Many people were actually crying. The crew was the most unprofessional and careless I have ever met. They were rude at the point that whenever we were trying to explain our frustration they were literally laughing at our faces. On a 12 hours flight, we were served lunches but no dinners as they didn't have any, even though the 3 hours morning delay was caused by loading food for us.
This company is a DISGRACE. If you are planning to go to the Seychelles you should consider to travel with a different company.

Flight Delayed Outbound For No Apparent Reason Alt
Flight delayed outbound for no apparent reason although told at checkout that it would be going early . Sat on plane at Malpennsa Milan for near enoungh 3 hours with no one telling us what the hell was happening . Got to Seychelles 16 hrs later to be told our luggage was left behind in Milan due to the weather by the pilot . Staff made a quick exit before anyone could complain and were seen buying duty frees and doing a runner leaving us not knowing what was happening .When questioned where luggage was we were told its in Milan then Paris then London , luggage appeared four days later into our seven days holiday / wedding . Plane delayed outbound by one day !! Emirates next time.

This Incident Occurred During My Trip To Mauritius
This incident occurred during my trip to Mauritius on flight HM 001 on 17th of January 2010. I have flown with Air Seychelles before and I really loved it, but this recent incident which has made us not only missed my cousin wedding but ruined her big day.
On December 12, 2009, I used Sunset Travel to book my trip to Mauritius. My husband & I were booked on the Air Seychelles flight to Mahe (flight HM 001) on January 17,departed at 18.40 from London LHR which was scheduled to stop in Frankfurt for 50 minutes and arrive to Mahe at 09.35 on the morning of January 18. Then taking our connections flight HM 055 at 11.55 scheduled to arrive at 13.45 in Mauritius.
Our timely arrival was essential, as we were scheduled to participate in a pre wedding ceremony which began in the evening of January 18.
About 50 minutes later, after we landed in Frankfurt airport, the pilot briefly announced that the air conditioning unit was not operating and therefore the flight will be delayed....
We were forced to stay on the plane, we received no food except small bag of pretzels & refreshments until eventually dinner got served around midnight. Shortly after, we were informed by the Duty Manager this flight was cancelled due to the mechanical problem, accommodation arrangements were made for the night at the Sheraton hotel including communication facilities. We were reluctant to book seats on another airline but unfortunately it was too late and the airport was already closed.
It was a complete stressful environment, I had severe headaches and cramps and believe it or not I was even refused a wheelchair. The hotel was more than 200 yards away from where we were, we had NO assistance from any crew member from the terminal to the hotel. We had to find our way by ourselves, I literally crawled all the way up and down until we finally checked in at the hotel at 2.47am on the morning of January 18 and found out that no communications facilities were arranged as promised by the Duty Manager.
We had received a call from the Air Seychelles on Monday morning around 9am to inform us that we would be flying in couple of hours. After I asked him about our luggage, he offered us no further explanation, repeatedly put me on hold for ever....I must say that this manager was not apologetic at all. Shortly after, we were then told by the hotel receptionist that the flight information we had previously from the manager was not confirmed yet and hence lunch was arranged for us.
We were then booked this time with Thomas Cook airline to Mauritius on January 18, which was scheduled to take off around 3pm but delayed for some 40 minutes waiting for Air Seychelles
Passenger's luggages to be loaded, announced made by pilot and hopefully reach Mauritius on Tuesday 19 January early morning. Drinks were not free...we had to buy!!! We thought that our journey of hell was over, but as a matter of fact it got worst.
Upon our arrival at our final destination, after 45 minutes wait, we came to know that our baggage were left behind in Frankfurt not loaded on the aircraft as announced by the Pilot. We had spent another hour, just to complete the lost&found application for our luggage. The service we had from the condor staff at the airport was appalling, they were very unwilling to help and so was the Air Seychelles staff there. We were offered $100 only after several calls made to Air Seychelles desk in Port-Louis, at last we have got all our belongings on Thursday 21 January.
Air Seychelles has caused us an absolutely physical and mental distressed. The bottom line is our plan was all ruined. My husband and I planned to attend my cousin's wedding a year ago, In fact I had my outfit ordered since 1st August 2009 made in India at the cost of £800 which I sadly could not possibly wear for the wedding, my husband was with no suits, the bride ended up with no shoes, no hand bag which was meant to be her wedding treat from us. We regretfully could not attend to my cousin's wedding because Air Seychelles failed to fulfil their obligations.

Air Seychelles has everything you need to get you into the mood of visiting the Seychelles. You can listen to Seychelles music on the earphones provided, you get to choose a Creole dish from the many options on the food menu and majority of staff are from Seychelle. Fantastic atmosphere, friendly staff, good food - what more can you ask for? It's a wonderful experience.
You must be working for Air Seychelles or you must be having some other reasons to be so pretentious. It's by far the worst airline in every aspect and I will not be surprised if it is the least popular airline is the region. No wonder it is running bankrupt and people are choosing to fly Emirates, Etihad and Qatar Airways instead!
