Rough Trade Shops 25 Years - This Is A Compilation

Rough Trade Shops 25 Years - This is a compilation of some of the great stuff sold by Rough Trade over the last 25 years. Throughout the '80's the Rough Trade shop specialised in selling proper independent music by properly independent bands, putting out 7"s on labels created for one-offs or to sidestep the world of major label hypocrisy and distribution routes. Music fans admired the indie ethos and flocked in droves to buy new and unusual music by artists that they couldn't find outside of John Peel's radio show.

This CD comprises some of the most well-known bands touted by Rough Trade (and even signed to the label) in the form of the Smiths, Nick Cave, The Fall, Crass, Lemon Jelly, The Chemical Brothers and Robert Wyatt alongside little remembered gems by the likes of Studio Pressure, Huggy Bear and The Normal.

If you like indie music and you want to support the REAL thing. Rough Trade's brilliant compilation is a great place to start.
