A Warning Before You Go Hunt This Down:red Hot Chi
A warning before you go hunt this down:Red Hot Chili Peppers, Californication is not just one genre. It is just about every genre of music imaginable mixed together to create a beautiful Cd that borders "art" qualty. Funk, rap, metal, rock, blues, EVERYTHING. The main attraction here is the bass player and the amazing sounding guitars and harmonic choruses. The main singers' voice is weird and to some people will sound unbearable, but about 99.9% of everyone else will love it. The guitarist is amazing and kind of has a Jimi Hendrix type feel and the bass player could go down as one of the music world's greatest (I still don't know how he keeps up those bass lines!). The CD is great. Every song has an amazing harmonic chorus that WILL get stuck in your head constantly all day. The best song on this CD is the haunting "Otherside". The guitars sound amazing in this song and the drums bang some odd beats that make it sound really good...and then the chorus hits and you'll think it's the most beautiful thing ever. Although there are a few downers on it that aren't so good (I Like Dirt ,Porcelain), most of the CD is amazing and is worth checking out. Also (as a bonus), it's easy to find and is around 9.00 if you know where to look...so that's good. Filled with funk, metal, and even some R&B/rap, this CD has a little something for everyone and most people (that have a bit of taste, at least.) will love it. This CD was nominated for a grammy and it full deserved it. A great CD that sould tide you over until "Stadium Arcadium" comes out. A recommended buy, even if it came out way back in 1999, 4.5/5
