Pink is a really nice colour and the guys just played really well into the evening disussing the relevance of shipping and related industries. Jim O'Rourke joined the proceedings, laughing and falling over at the same time and we sat back and wondered quickly if we should join him and should we join the laughing or the falling. One of the best albums to be released since. Lovely.

I'd never heard of Jim O'Rourke before until a student brought it in. The much maligned first track stuck in my head for days. As an amature producer/engineer I find the sonic pallete engaging- in partcular his use of horns. I've never heard any of his other abums but plan to check them out. To me it's a melding of early Syd Barret Pink Floyd, Robyn Hithcock, perhap even some Nick Drake combined with a Brian Eno/Daniel Lanois studio perspective --works for me.
