Dirt is a great album to stick on in the car and turn up the volume. With simple but effective basslines and great vocals from the late Layne Staley straight off with "Them Bones" and later with "Rooster" the album has plenty of brooding guitar rifts.

Although I'm not a huge metal fan, the mixture of clever lyrics, the unique style and lack of screaming (Pantera style) make it an album I listen to when I least expect it and am never disappointed.
