Timeless. Musical Genius. Differential. One of the best records ever made.

I had no idea you could still do this in the 90's. Corgan and Friends released a rock-opera, skimming every genre from metal to folk. How did they get off with making this album? I mean, to be brutally honest, in my opinion Billy Corgan has a below-average voice that doesn't always fit the song he is singing. Also there are some throwaways (Take Me Down, Porcelina of the Vast Oceans and many others) and some of the worst tracks ever (Tales of a scorched earth, XYU, Bodies). But there are also some of the best tracks ever (Tonight Tonight, 1979, Bullet with Butterfly wings, Muzzle, Stumbeline and plenty of others) All around, a good buy. But it's no Pink Floyd.

You'll be very lucky to get so many classic tracks for such little money. Both Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness CD's are packed with great songs from the gentle acoustic guitar of stumbleine, to the crazy jam out of jellybelly. Although Billy Corgan's voice can take a while to get used to, I think this is a Smashing Pumpkins album that deserves a place in every ones CD collection.
