To Get A Debut Album With One Try Is Very Hard And
to get a debut album with one try is very hard and korn found it hard as well as you might read in reviews.
But since they manage it and god did they deserve it. It is just a proper classic album and jonathon has just the best voice it can be soothing and completely psycho expressing some kind of alien language at times, this "psycho alien" voice is just amazing and talentful. The guitar is complex and thrilling. The bass with that unique srting - click sound is intruiging and the drums are complex fast and masterful all this mixed up just gets you caught in a deserving album which cannot do anything but please inspire and leave your jaw hanging.
With jons emotional stories about drugs horrific childhood, being rejected and abuse just upsets and really makes you think then all the amazing background instruments brew up a raw metal.
it starts with a hefty ARE YOU READY?! and ends with ubearable crying and if you have a heart ends with you crying as well. the brutal force of the story and music behind blind will make you sit up and listen through the whole way.
the complex beats and irregular and rare tongue stwisting abilities of ball tongue make you interested and fall in love with the album. then the emotion and sterdyness of need to is one inticing as well followed by clown wich can clear a path for many and learn the complexities of korn. divine tells you about how much jonathon hates bullies and wannabes. faget shows you what he had to put up with in school being called gay and faget and barraged with insults and how it tears him apart. shoots and ladders (the death metal nursery rhyme song) shows you the darkness behind these rhymes.
predictable shows you how he guesses what life for his bullies will be like fake well you can guess by the title wannabe's again lies is just about the same. helmet in the bush shows you about his drug problems and has at the end a complex rowdy tongue twister which translates to: please god help me from my painful situation. please god don't let me die tonight. and the very upsetting emotional ending song daddy about extreme torment and sexual abuse and ends up with him screaming abuse and crying his soul out yet theres enough of that for the rest of his albums

Korn's First Studio Album, Korn Have An Impressive
Korn's first studio album, Korn have an impressive variety of Nu Metal sounds and originality in the music. In my opinion, this is probably one of the best metal albums in the 1990-1996. The album is full of well-complicated guitar riffs, bass lines, great drum parts and, of course, great vocals.
Compared to the other albums of Korn, this one is probably one of the best, aspecially because the band were younger then, so Jonathan's (vocal) voice was young and well-managed on the album.
the concept of lyrics is good as well, it gives the feel to the music and fits in nicely. Lyrics were written by Jonathan and are about his, mildly said, bad expieriences in childhood.
Overall, the album is worth listening more than a few times, because after every listen you hear new things you didn't before and fall in love with the album more. Korn, Korn - one of the best all time Nu Metal albums and if the fan of Nu Metal haven't heard it yet, then he must hear this musical masterpiece.

Korn, Korn Is Possibly The Greatest Hard Rock Albu
Korn, Korn is possibly the greatest Hard Rock album of the '90s, but believe me, its not for everyone. No, this CD does not have amazing leads like Slash from GnR, or Metallica-like riffs, but its originality makes it better. The album begins with their first single "Blind". I've never heard a better beginning, ever. It starts out with just percussion, and eventually explodes with "ARE YOU READY??" and then heavy riffs to follow. It gets to a climax, and still has an amazing beat. It really pumps you up. As does "Ball Tongue", the second song, and this really shows originality. Although to some ears it may seem like stupid jibberish, the chorus shows Jon Davis' ability to have a strong vocal performance in an odd way never seen before. And, although to some people annoying, I find it very fun. "Clown" and "Shoots and Ladders" were both great singles, both chilling yet exciting. And maybe the best on the cd, "Faget" is emotionally heavy and very original. No, this song is not meant to be offensive by the name, it is showing how names can hurt. The songs like "Need To", "Fake", "Predictable", "Divine", "Lies", "Helmet in the Bush" are also very extraoridary songs, but the only one to get into detail with is "Daddy". This song is extremely depressing, and has brought many people to tears, including their singer, Jon Davis, as he finishes the last words. It is very creepy, and the worst part is that it is a true story about his abusive life. But not to get into detail, it is not something to be taken lightly, as with all of their material. If you are just beginning to get into Korn, definitely pick up this album. It is definitely the most essential album of theirs. Everyone has their favorites, but believe me, this is the heaviest, rawest, and creepiest they have to offer. Although depressing, somewhat offensive, and the language is a little loose, it is a must have for a Hard Rock listener.
