“The other day, I listened to this album in the car....”

★★★★☆

written by freezepig on 25/11/2009

The other day, I listened to this album in the car. There were three of us, and there wasn't a single jaw closed, and there wasn't a single eye not widened. Frontman Al Jourgensen worked his fingers and his ass to the bone on this no-compromise bestseller. With political outrage in "NWO", which attacks papa Bush, and with the same old industrial sound in "Just One Fix", Jourgensen shows true originality and true artistic ability. This album has true diversity as well- from the early Nine Inch Nails sound during Pretty Hate Machine, to Slayer's sound during the Reign in Blood-era (this album has killer riffs). Sometimes I wonder if Jesus really did build his hot rod.

“Psalm 69 is probably the finest of Al Jourgen's work...”

Psalm 69 is probably the finest of Al Jourgen's work giving the need for brutal guitar solos, angry vocals and machine gun drums. With songs like NWO, Just One Fix and Jesus Built My Hot Rod, this stands as a great album. Whilst it is arguble to call it Ministry's finest, the album does manage to slip away after the fifth track. Scarecrow stays to long and the albums title track is over done. In the end it's an album I love.
