Hardcore Metallica fans accuse this album of selling out however it is the opposite. The fans sold out. They complained when Metallica delivered an excellent album simply because it had slower and more catchy tunes and featured more in the radio. Their most commercially successful album and with good reason.
1. Enter Sandman (5:31) - Begins the album with the best song. Heavy catchy and all round great. 5/5
2. Sad But True (5:27) - Is a heavy tune with good rhythm. Another great song. 5/5
3. Holier Than Thou (3:47) - The quality comprimises a bit here, an average song. 3/5
4. The Unforgiven (6:27) - This is an excellent song which is a slower paced ballad. Very good. 5/5
5. Wherever I May Roam (6:44) - The quality continues with this road anthem. Great lyrics and tune. 5/5
6. Dont Tread On Me (4:00) - A faster paced war song about landmines. Another average song. 3/5
7. Through The Never (4:04) - This song is average and is not a standout at all. 3/5
8. Nothing Else Matters (6:28) - Another superb song like The Unforgiven, but slower and more emotional. 5/5
9. Of Wolf And Man (4:16) - A very catchy song with good lyrics. Very solid song. 4/5
10. The God That Failed (5:08) - Dedicated to James's mother. Is not a bad song. 4/5
11. My Friend Of Misery (6:49) - Good quality song, co-written by Jason. Nice bass intro. 4/5
12. The Struggle Within (3:53) - The final song of the album is only average, with a catchy tune. 3/5
