AppliancesUwant are a box shifting organisation run on the back of http://www.theobalds.com. Maybe that's how they manage to supply at such great prices?

The website does not include an 'About Us' link. Any organisation not up front about who they are is bound to make you feel a bit uneasy. However, I managed to find an address and other information so eventually, so I placed an order.

I ordered the following items totalling just under £2,000, 2 years ago.

SMEG WARMING DRAWER

SMEG ALL GLASS TOUCH CERAMIC HOB

SMEG Built in Combination Microwave

SMEG FULLY INTEGRATED DISHWASHER

Now I would doubt it was the fault of the high quality caring courier service our great country is renowned for (not), but the packing on the dishwasher was damaged (once unpacked the appliance was okay), the hob was smashed, the oven was bent and fortunately, the warming draw was perfect. The replacement hob which arrived 1 week later was good, but the replacement oven was bent too so I asked for my money back. Customer services were accommodating in dealing with these problems. But what a terrible waste of time, money and resources! The main problem was damaged goods through poor transportation and/or storage.

Overall, I'd pay a bit more and try for quality goods delivered on time and in good condition.

I ordered a Smeg hob & single oven in March which was due for delivery 16th April. The delivery has not arrived and the company email address is saying "out of office" & their website is currently down undergoing "Maintenance". Phoning leads to an answerphone message - I have had no response. I believe this company has acted fraudulently and have instructed my bank to recover these monies. I will also be reporting this case to Trading Standards.

We ordered a Rangemaster cooker, Rangemaster hood and a ceramic sink from Appliances U Want at the end of February this year. We were told at the time of ordering that the sink and Cooker hood were in stock, but the cooker would not be available until 10th March. Because of the good price, I went ahead with the order. The 10th of March came and went - no goods. E-mailed sales to be told Rangemaster were still out of stock, but would be deliverd the following week. This went on for 3 weeks, and when I finaly got to speak to someone, was told their suppliers were on credit hold !

I cancelled the order for the cooker (and fortunately did get a refund) and we got the sink and cooker hood deliverd two days later. Since then, their website in no longer visible and their phones line diverts to answerphone.

Appliances U Want appear to be a "Fred in a shed" type company that use another company "Theobalds" to supply and deliver their goods.

I re-ordered the Rangemaster cooker through rangecookers.co.uk - who's customer service was excellent. Ordered Friday, delivered the following Wednesday ! Unfortunately they were £75 more expensive than the Appliance U Want price - but at least we got a cooker !!!!

WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY , THEY ARE A DISGRACE

I bought a Rangemaster Cooker and hob for £2778.00 on the 4th March. I was told by the girl at applicancesuwant that the items would be delivered on the 26th March. On the day, nothing turned up, no phone call, no email. I could not contact the company by either email or phone and they have made no attempt to contact me. Luckily my bank has agreed to refund the money and investigate the company for fraud, otherwise i would have lost a lot of money. If appliances you want were in financial difficulty then they would have known about this when i ordered the goods. They should never have accepted my order, as when i rung Rangemaster directly they had no knowlegde of this company and no orders waiting delivery. I dont think they ordered my goods at all so taking my money was no less than theft. I hope others that have fallen for this company and are still waiting for delivery/ contact from them, are as lucky as me and will get a refund.

I ordered and paid for a Smeg gas hoba and a 6ocm cooker heed on the 14th March, shortley afterwards received a phone call to say would we acceprt delivery of both items on Friday 26th March as one of the items was not in stock. I agreed, nothing arived on Friday, now the Web site is off line, there is no reply whatsoever to my calls and no one to contact. Looks like I've lost my money?!

I purchaced a smeg gas hob and a smeg chimney from appliancesuwant on the 17th of march.I was sent an e-mail to say that it would arrive on tuesday the 23rd of march, this being an unsuitable date i rearranged for the items to be delivered on friday the 26th of march.Having taken the day off and waiting all day , no hob or chimney turned up, I tried to contact the customer care team,ANSWER PHONE left a message no one got back to me e-mailed nothing back?,no phone call to say why it had not turned up in fact theres been no contact from them at all,If they can not deliver GIVE ME A REFUND.even their website is not displaying,makes you wonder what sort of outfit their running.only one thing left to do now is talk to trading standards. I have had to leave a stardid not want to.

I ordered a Smeg oven 3 weeks ago and was advised by email of a delivery date as the item was in stock. I requested to change the date to 2 weeks later to coinside with kitchen fitters and me being able to accept delivery. On the day nothing arrived, there were no calls or Emails from applianceuwant.The customer service number continuously goes to answer message. After waiting all day I sent an email which they replied saying the oven wasn`t coming as they no longer used that courier company.They said I could either wait but they didnt know how long for, or have a refund. Luclily I have been able to get an oven from Appliancesonline within 72 hours. applianceuwant are impossible to speak to in person and the fact they only seem to send emails made me wonder if it was a genuine web site. Luckily I have received my refund.

Ordered a Butler oven which arrived on time. It developed a fault which was resolved by appliances u want very quickly and very satisfactorly. Would recommend as customer service is excellent.

Bought Smeg PISA tap, excellent price ... no problems at all from Appliances U Want.

Price, delivery time, comms, will use again.

Thought the site looked a bit dodgy at first, probably only because i've been scammed before.

I got a great deal from another company (£365Electrical.com) but when they sent me a confirmation they had not listed the correct model despite my being very, very clear about what I wanted. I checked again around as many suppliers as I could find and AppliancesUWant were the cheapest by far and offered free delivery on the item I wanted. The delivery was quick and efficient, in fact, the driver called us the day before we were due for delivery and said we could have it straight away if someone could be in to accept it! Great value, good coms and no problems. Well done AUW!
